Talk about Scooby Doo on another thread got me thinking about shows I would like to see remade. Here are a couple of mine, what are yours and why. I Claudius I am re-watching this on IPlayer for the umpteenth time with the great Derek Jacobi in the title role. Why: One of the streaming services could do a great job on this and best of all Derek Jacobi could still play the old Claudius. Dark Skies 1996. Why: Over to you, what are your shows to remake and why

Eldorado - good series idea but lousy sets and wooden acting Rich ex-pats in Spain deserved better...... Maybe Eagleman13 could have a cameo too......

Why bother to remake anything? You know it will just be turned into a woke fairytale.

Ask the Family but Robert Robinson is irreplaceable, Nationwide but Frank Bough is a deceased pervert, I'd have to plump for Indoor League, maybe with Geoffrey boycott as Ray Illingworth and Bernard Ingham are dead, and I can't think of any more professional Yorkshireman.

The Six Million Dollar Man, but this time that's just two nights in the Premier Inn and breakfast at Wetherspoons.

I'm not a fan of remakes. They never quite hit the mark for me. Talk of remaking Fawlty Towers leaves me cold. Just imagine the deaf guest, the mocking of a Spanish waiter or references to WW2 in the hands of a woke producer. No thank you. Same goes for film sequals on the whole - Godfather 2 is one exception.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |
