Just listened to Roy's post-match comments after Wolves.

If there is one thing I, and football fans worldwide I'd suggest, have often bemoaned in the past it is managers not aligning with fans on their comments about the team/club/performances, occasionally provoking hostile responses.

Roy essentially came out and said 'Very poor first half, much better second, not happy with conceding right at the end and all shows we're a work in progress and there is plenty more to improve but overall delighted with result'. He summed up how I felt better than I'd of done myself!

Roy's return and continued stewardship has been criticised by many, and I understand/understood why, but for me any negative thought was more reflective of the club than the man himself (in the appointment). Without being too 'luvvy duvvy', overly romantic or displaying delusional optimism, I am somewhat regretting his age as I think he's the best man for us right now.

Roy had a practicality to keep us afloat in the PL with very little resource, seems malleable to the set up here and now with much more talent at his disposal I am genuinely hopeful that he has the wisdom, experience, talent and man management skill to take us forward.

It feels as though we have, and have had, a very strong unity between the club/team and us as fans and Roy encapsulates a lot of this. Inspires a lot of confidence and a sense of stability and promise for me. Just my thoughts at this moment in time and happy for anyone to disagree.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

It's going to take quite a character to replace Roy.

I think Roy is up there with Sir Steve as the 2 best Palace managers.

Compared to that knob at the arse who runs around like he’s won the euro millions every time they score. I mean dad dancing is one thing but….

Let's not forget Ray. Hodgson and Lewington are an excellent double Act. Both are needed. Between them they coach players to improve and encourage them so they do improve. We saw it last season almost as soon as they arrived (Eze for a start and even Mitchell and Ward). We are seeing it continue as both Edouard and Mateta are beginning to show signs that they might just be better strikers than we thought.

Early days, I know but I have confidence that Ray and Roy will squeeze the maximum out of the players we have.

I think it showed how much Brendan Rodgers had lost the plot last season, did he really think the Leicester fans were that stupid? I know he’s been known for being deluded in the past, there was even a great parody Twitter account called ‘deluded Brendan’ back in his Liverpool days, but even by his standards his interview after we played them at selhurst last season was unbelievably deluded. He stated it was an even game that they deserved something from.

He couldn’t have been any further away from connecting with the fans with a statement like that. Surely even the most blinkered of Leicester fans who were there would’ve laughed at that bulls***, his days were definitely numbered

Yes, Mr Hodgson knocks spots off many managers that are obsessed with mind games, outlandish statements and all the other tomfoolery that seems to be almost mandatory these days.

He was a Palace supporter as a lad and he understands our club right down to the ground.

I've supported Palace for many a long year and this gentleman is, in my opinion the best of the lot.
