It was disappointing and sad to read that there was a racist incident in the crowd yesterday. We are better than that and have a long history of diversity at our club. Look at our current team, full of talent and lots of it black. Anyone who is nt proud and accepting of that should not come to Selhurst Park. You are not welcome!

If proved the person will be banned and face court, may lose his job as well.

Stupid thing to do. Especially as most of our team are black.

Anyone with this mentality should offski to millwall.

Is there any reporting on this (link)?

Extremely disappointing but for me also bizarre if true.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

They walk amoung us unfortunately though it remains to be seen if it was racist abuse , abuse or just taking the micky . Our fans to their credit are normally right on top this sort of behaviour and its not been tollerated for many a year

Thanks both for the link.

Hard to imagine the halfwittery that contributes to incidents like this. Not something at all I associate with our club, beyond idiocy and not welcome. Again, very strange but extremely disappointing.

WTF is the matter with such people? We must be up there in the list of most black players in our side; usually a minimum of 8 black players, as yesterday. If you don't like black people, perhaps consider a different way to spend your fifty quid of a Sunday. If proven, obviously.

I just sent it over to my brother YT who's immediate response was 'surely aimed at Hwang'.

I do wonder if it was and if so is that seen as somewhat more 'acceptable racism' for some. Such a contradiction would be a feature of thinking for anyone so stupid as to do this.

I suspect your brother is correct. And the 'acceptable racism' thought also tracks.

WTF is wrong with people

According to someone on the BBS it was not racist abuse. They claimed that the person called Hwang a Bench Warmer.

I have no inside info just relaying what others are saying.
Hopefully people who sat near this guy can confirm or deny what was actually said.

I agree that racism should not be tolerated at our club or in society.

However it is a bit presumptuous to assume that it was targeted towards a black player. It could have been targeted towards Hwang or one of the white players. Race covers all kinds of nationality, national origin, ethnicity and skin colour.

Why do people always assume it’s against a black person???
