We've currently got 5 players in the team who are frequently linked with the big clubs, it's so obvious where we are lacking and would be a travesty if the board didn't have a real go for it this season. You'll never have a sustained period of success in this league on our budget but every few years You'll build a good enough team to have a real go, this is it, there's no chance this group of players will stay together after this season so the board need to back the manager and give us a real chance of competing for a chance of breaking into the top 8 and maybe nicking a European place. We've signed lerma on a free albeit a good signing and franca who looks promising but when you take the rumoured contract offered to wilf off the table, that's just covered francas fee and wages so we've not really spent anything this year. I feel sorry for Roy, its almost like the club have said we aint spending so Roy do your thing. It's pretty obvious just looking at the football we play, with the weaker squads in the league and other clubs in a worse financial position than us that we won't be relegated this season. There's no benefit to leaving it so late in the market other than financial so the club quite clearly haven't backed the manager yet, it'll be a long time before we have this chance again so back the manager, strengthen upfront and the 2 full back positione and let's actually have a good go this year instead of being happy to remain in the league another year. Look we could sign 3 players and they all flop but atleast the club have shown intent.

Why do we wait three weeks into the season to buy our players? Who else does that? Are Brentford or Brighton in better financial positions than us? 11 years in the prem and we still can’t secure a squad before the season starts. A joke. And this is what happens: The players lose confidence, more work is demanded by other players to cover weak players and so they get injured, players from other clubs avoid us because we’re a cheap joke with no ambition or likelihood to go to Europe so we can't improve, and the Parish tight-fisted cycle of surviving on scraps continures. For example, Eze lacks player support so watch him pull a hamstring trying to do it all while Parish sits on his big fat wallet. BS! But it’s my club. Not a disappointing performance from our manager or boys as a disappointing performance from Parish not supporting the boys. Look at Ward, a Palace legend, but gives Arsenal the 3 points. His position is on the bench like Schlupp too perhaps. RB has been a gaping hole since AWB but someone’s either too stupid or too cheap to fix it. If an AWB was in that position would have beaten Arsenal. We really should stop blaming the boys or Roy. Under the circumstances our management forces them to play they should all be applauded, Ward included. Yes, it's time for PARISH to show intent, but it's been this way for over a decade now. He's got all these excuses for not spending and leaving our team ragged for weeks into the seasons, but where's the effing stadium??? No more excuses: look at Brighton, Brentford, Leicester's league cup. Disgusting management behaviour. Lousy behaviour. Just two positions away from an awesome team and season: RB and striker. JUST TWO!!!!! Cough up Parish!!!!

WOW! He's not wrong tho is he. West ham won a European competition last season. Brighton, villa, Leicester, Southampton, Swansea, Fulham, Southampton, wolves all played in Europe in recent years. All I want is to watch us play in Europe, there's never been a better chance instead the board will be happy to watch us survive another year.

That’s exactly why we DON’T throw money around needlessly and why we take our time doing our due diligence as they call it these days, so we hopefully don’t end up signing flops who we end up being stuck with and costing a fortune in wages So does your intent get us another 10/20 points? Does intent give us a cup run ending in a Wembley final?

I thought I would post this. I have no idea if it means anything. [Tweet Link]
Or they could be here to buy the club? Who knows.

It has nothing to do with identifying the right player, more hoping selling clubs get desperate and we save a bit of money.

Personally I would rather be cautions than end up like we did before 2010. I really believe we have come a long way and very slowly but surely building a sound base. We have IMO the best squad of players we have ever had in the PL and we are still adding. The academy will produce but we must be patient, I'd much rather have SP & co than those in charge of Everton!!!
