Any refs on here? Why was Ayew given offside at Sheffield last week? According to the Premier League the rule is as follows. Though Law 11 (offside) has not explicitly changed, the new guidelines make clear that an attacking player who is offside will not automatically become onside upon a defender touching the ball, unless it was a save.

They keep tweaking the offside law ,in fact they keep tweaking all the laws that I honestly don't know anymore what refs are thinking It was a simple game with laws that everyone (bar the mrs) understood . Offsides were simple and Ayew was offside in every era of the game when the ball was passed forward . If thats changed I'm as confused as her indoors , maybe thats what they are trying to do . With the womanfolk unable to grasp the offside law they are in the name of equality making it so confusing the blokes wont be able to understand it either

You have just answered your own Q? by posting of Law 11. The 'guidelines' are from the EPL & not from IFAB who make the laws of the game & guidelines are just that, not law. Hope that helps.

I see normal service has been renewed at Old Trafford by all accounts Wolves should have had a penalty. Gary O'Neill claims that he has already received an apology from the referees assoc.
One more point |

Yeah, he has. Not only from Howard Webb the boss of PGMOL, but, Jon Moss who is the General Manager of same . . . [Link] Not going to change anything tho will it, also Garth Crooks has blasted the situation in his 'Team Of The Week' colunm. Edited by eagleman13 (15 Aug 2023 9.50am)

The penalty given against Lewis Dunk was shocking. Funny but even so it was a shocking decision.

Onana is going to be calamity after calamity and his statement makes him look like a perfect fit for Utd - a c***.

Yeah, had that been the other way round and a foul by the Wolves keeper with Utd. 1-0 down you can guarantee they would’ve been awarded a penalty. The big club bias is quite shocking.

Well you only have to compare it to Liverpool's shocking penalty at Selhurst Park a couple of seasons back to prove your point about big club bias.

With the utmost respect I have viewed some of the comments on the discussions pertaining to referees with incredulity and concluded that they are nor rooted in sound judgement. I shall refrain from contesting the 'Charges' for the sole reason that the debates will descend into animus and acrimony and lo and behold a dastardly 'Willo Thread' will be the outcome. In the interests of HOL I shall keep my counsel. Edited by Willo (15 Aug 2023 11.06am)
