Who’s leaving hurt you the most?
Ian is my all time favourite Palace player but Wilf is a very close second!
Ians raw passion for goals and his link up with Brighty made my early games at Palace so enjoyable
Then the wilderness years …. Apart from a bit of Chris Armstrong.
Then came Wilf I loved him skinning two or three players at the same time when he first came on the scene. he made me sit down and stand up so many times it was like a workout watching a game.
But the answer to my question is Ian(he was after all my first hero)

In my mind Wilf is the greatest player ever to pull on a Palace shirt. Ian Wright has forgotten he ever played for us. No contest

Sorry misread the OP's post.

Which departure hurt me most? Wright because his departure whilst he still had years of greatness still before him led to the end of a dream of real possibilities for the club. Wilf gave us his best but is now well past his best and so I don't feel any hurt at all.

Under any way of looking at it Wilf , is one of the very best to play for Palace, and the fact that he has spent almost a whole career being brilliant as a Palace player has put him in some ways in the forefront . Everyone loves a really tricky winger
I remember Johnny Byrne well a brilliant player no doubt about it .An England international at a time when we won World cups, but mainly after leaving the club. Wright, was a sensation , an absolute natural, unlucky not to be capped more than he was.
Kenny Samson would be my choice sheer class, a player before his time, as with Byrne and Wright, most of his football was elsewhere , but in the time he was with Palace he stood out as a cut above anything else , sheer class and he proved it as a regular for England. For me Kenny was one of the best full backs England has had let alone Palace.
I can’t remembered being to hurt about any of them leaving , just how outstanding they had all been.

For that semi final at Brighton, for his sheer talent, his outstanding contribution to our decade of top flight football and his genuine passion for the club... please stand up Mr Zaha

We knew Wright was on his wayout and we have had the best of Wilf and to be honest was not looking forward to seeing a further decline of his abilities that has been quite obvious in recent years . He has gone at the right time .

Yannicks move to Everton was the one that got me , the arrow through the heart ,the thought of never again seeing those silky skills and massive smile ,given away for a few quid to build a new stand ,f joke .

Neither for me . I prefer a player who stays loyal to his club and doesnt turn and run for a fiver more or a silver plate . Joel Ward leaving would have hurt me more .

Without doubt Wright, he had this best playing days ahead of him and it destroyed the club spirit, Wilf has had his best days and will not, IMHO will not be missed.

Not even close, Wrighty for me, he was in his prime when he left, Wilf’s best years are behind him. Also we’ll survive Wilf leaving, we all knew when Wrighty left it was the beginning of the end of that great team. Brighty looked lost without him, as did the whole team

For us old gits it must be Ian Wright .
For the newer supporters it will be Wilf Zaha .

Blimey!! You're hard to please!
458 games (3rd in the all time list of games)
Something like 13 seasons ...
How much more loyal were you expecting.

Wilf deserves his chance for a new adventure. So goes with fond memories

But yes, Wrighty hurt at the time more, even more so because we let him go so cheaply!

... what
