Couldn’t quite believe my eyes reading the article below. £85 will get you all 19 programmes delivered in a season at a £10 discount to buying them individually. This means that 19 programmes would typically cost £95, a cost of £5 a programme! That’s a horrendous price rise from the previous £3.50. Hopefully everything at Selhurst hasn’t gone up like that …

I was suspicious when there was a long survey about the programme in the off season.

I stopped collecting them years ago. I religiously got them every game until one day I had way too many of them!

A 'Large' letter of 500gr+ is now £2.95 first class (which is how these are mailed), so actually a discounted cost of £2.05 per programme....

My experience is very rarely, I did it for one season, I didn’t even get two, one I got an empty envelope, obviously someone at the post office was a Man U fan. Sometimes it came Saturday morning, but most of the time Monday or Tuesday after the game I only did it to save me carrying it about at the game and on the way home, for me it was worth paying the postage, but I gave it up because of the poor service, but to be fair a lot of that could’ve been down to Sittingbourne post office which is dreadful at times Edited by monkey (13 Jul 2023 3.06pm)

Ironically I stopped buying them when our most recent PL era started, well second season anyway. Was very much a standard match day experience for me however I think the football became far more entertaining and therefore the need for reading material lessened! Plus the queues outside of the Holmesdale, at the top of the hill where side-o often was, lengthened and this put me off! Where we they all at home to Crewe on a wet Tuesday eh?
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

The last time I bought a program was back in the Eighties so genuine question what do you get? Team news, club news? well the HOL or the club website gives you that. I stopped buying because it was just adverts and puff pieces. Gone are the days you bought a program at the ground to discover the team and something about the opposition.

Cheaper paying for a membership and getting the e-programme, You get it on time and can forward it to all your pals.
