Sorry, I can't find any of the threads to do with the new stand so have started a new one. This may (or may not) be of interest: From what I can tell, this youtube channel makes their own animations / VR renderings of new football stadiums and stands. These images are different from the official club ones, therefore (not that it makes the stand any different, or gets it built any sooner).

thanks Big, very informative. I personally wouldn't want to live in the homes directly behind the new main stand, however, surely they must have been aware of potential build project for the last 30 odd years. It will make the already limited facilities in the Arthur Wait look even worse!

We might actually one day have 1/4 of a modern stadium! I still feel as though it looks like putting a prosthetic, teenage leg on Keith Richards, or fake t!ts on Judi Dench but still something I suppose. A miserable day for me today lol.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

I almost got excited there. Shame it can't be built that fast in reality. As noted, the design is a little different to the club's graphics. There is seating on the Whitehorse Lane side and that stand will surely be smaller than depicted when they remove seating to lengthen the pitch. It will be nice when it's finished, or even started.

I’ll be happy when a £100m stand is built , so we won’t end up somewhere in Surrey.

TFL will demand we pay for a Tram extension from Croydon and the tube line from Elephant and castle. Sport England will demand compensation or a new training facility. 5 London boroughs will all demand a drink as will the Friends of Crystal Palace park. As for the locals they will object strenuously. The club have looked at it and decided it's a no goer unless the Taxpayer decides to step in and do a West Ham. Edited by Badger11 (16 Jul 2023 7.43am)

And the poor AW ST holders will still be having to use disgusting toilets. I doubt the new stand will happen, but would welcome it if it did. The dilapidated parts of the stadium should be renovated first.
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |
