This could be a great midfield partnership, cheick had a bustling partnership with (fofana) at lens ,we could hopefully see cheick get some shots in now, these guys could be good together.

Cheick defensive, Eze attacking, Lerma box to box, sounds very good on paper

There will always be rocks in the road ahead of us. They will be stumbling blocks or stepping stones; it all depends on how you use them.

It is only on paper but was exactly my thinking

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

He's had plenty of shots and one day he could actually manage to hit a pigeon

Doucoure and Hughes for me, until Lerma earns his place.

He has earned his place with his performances for Bournemouth, that’s why we signed him.

Totally different team. Different manager. Different environment. Chances are he'll come into the starting 11, I agree. But I think Hughes deserves the respect of starting on a level playing field.

Lets be honest, he couldn't really keep Jeff out the team.

I'd be v surprised if Lerma doesn't start.

So would I. And recognising my own rose-tinted glasses I am still very encouraged by the thought of Lerma and Doucoure forming the base of our midfield. Two players I rate highly and think will compliment one another.

you are in the minority.

Lerma was signed to fill the gapping hole in our midfield for much of last season. As long as he is fit and his form is reasonable he will be a starter.

Hughes is ok, but has been here for 2 years and has never been a regular starter, and many of his appearances have been as sub.

The only gaping hole was in Vieiras head.

Same, the more and more I watch of Lerma, the more I think he'll compliment Doucoure and Eze brilliantly.

Dead excited about seeing them in action
