I love Roy, but wasn’t a fan of the turgid football in his last couple of full seasons, but sometimes its better the devil you know, and if we get the performances we got towards the end of last season on a regular basis next season, then surely it’s better than some untried inexperienced at premier league level manager.

You talk about ambition? Well our ambition is still to stay in the league, or in your 30 years have you not noticed our ground, size and facilities is not quite up to pretty much everyone else in the premier league, so until that changes, this is as good as it’s going to get for us. We’re never going to push on and compete with the big boys in the top half as we stand financially at the moment and it’s deluded to think otherwise
