They will not let you travel you will need a new passport also you may have even less time than you think left on it. The EU tightened up the rules and they were right to do so. My old passport ran for 10 years but also had 6 months carried over from the previous one which should not happen so the expiry date was wrong. Look at the issue date of your passport and add 10 years if it different to the expiry date in your passport it is the correct date not that. This has now been fixed for new passports there is no carry over. A neighbour was turned back at the airport because he thought he had more than 6 months but once they pointed out the above he had less and so missed his holiday. Just apply online I got mine back in 2 weeks

I wouldn't trust it: they literally do anything to piss off the Brits. Renew.

You certainly cannot rely on carried forward from previous passport. That’s a fairly recent change.

Worked at HMPO for 3 years, need 6 clear months remaining for the return journey otherwise you won't be allowed to travel, plus in previous years any handful of remaining months would be added to your renewal, no more. New Passports are only valid for a max of 10 years.

its easier to get an irish passport than a cup of tea at East Croydon station. Even all the drum-banging nutters on the Shankill (who hate the irish) they all have an Irish passport. Even a Mongolian horseback Steppe warrior (ex prisoner, never left Mongolia) could easily get an Irish passport. Edited by PalazioVecchio (06 Jun 2023 10.58am)

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |
