Have watched him over the past few weeks and he cant seem to hide his distain for CPFC. Still seems miffed at his mate Vieira getting sacked.

I'm so Palace I don't even know it

Oh do bore off, not this again!! Love him or hate him now, he’s a palace legend who gave those of us who were there at the time great memories, so I still love the bloke and he’s entitled to his opinion.

Whatever your opinion, in my eyes, he’ll always be an Eagle

I agree with your first statement, but not with your second. None of us who were there in those years will ever forget his contribution. The Cup Final goals were the icing on the cake, but even more than that he and Mark Bright really gave us an identity. His legend status is assured.

He won't, at least for me, "always be an eagle" simply because he's so consistently and bluntly made it clear that that's not how he sees himself. In fact, he's milked his Arsenal connection at our expense up one side of the river and down the other. So while I can respect his legend status, he'll absolutely never be one of our own.

Totally agree in that he was a Palace legend, one that I loved and followed from the day he joined us, however I do find it very irritating when he constantly refers to Arsenal as 'We or 'Us' yet refers to us as just 'Palace'.
Clearly wanted to make referral to his mate Patrick as usual rather than the great job Roy has done in plugging the hole in a potentially sinking ship.
I just wished he came across with more balanced comments......

Some have short memories - I was in the front few rows at Highbury when he ran up the Palace fans after scoring against us mouthing obscenities and taking great delight in our demise. Yes some Palace fans were taunting him but many like myself idolised him at Palace and will never forgive his behaviour.
Not a Palace legend for me but a great player who is only remembered for his Arsenal exploits which is just the way he wants it. Has always turned his nose up at Palace since he left us.

Legend as a player, an a...hole as a pundit. I hate that "We" when talking about the Gunners and at the same time, seems to have no positive connection to Palace. Sitting there with his sophisticated glasses trying to make him look smarter than he really is. Together with female pal Kelly in the boring show "Kelly & Wrighty" - or is it opposite?

Yes, thinking about this a little more carefully, I agree SYD.

Only watched the Palace “highlights” and comments. MrWright looked and sounded totally disinterested. Needs to get over his mate’s departure.
Having said that I am on the side of the grateful for what he did for Palace

Pretty happy the way it went for the MOTD pundits - Leicester relegated, Arsenal blew the league title, and Stoke & Spurs continue to underperform

To many supporters he is a 'Legend' but Mark Bright is never mentioned in this esteemed category when in terms of goals scored they are not too far apart.

Their respective scoring records at our club, in all competitions :
Ian Wright - Played 277, goals 118
Mark Bright - Played 286, goals 114
