Gawd I remember him coming on for his debut. At 15,16 whatever you are catapulted into a world where huge decisions are laid at your feet. He could have ended up where he is having never played for Spurs even, or he might if stayed at Palace and been so much more. Can’t say I have sympathy for him but don’t hate him either.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

It seems a long long time ago when the Bostock Family took short term riches and threw their sons career in the bin

(I looked all this up....) He is our youngest-ever player, debut at age 15. He played just 4 times for Spurs but played in no league games for them. The consummate 'journeyman' footballer. Across 15 seasons and 15 clubs, he's made just 294 appearances, scoring 33 goals.
Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes) |

His step dad sacked his agent and took over his management with short term gain and long term obscurity. His development was arrested just at a critical moment and when spurs binned him he was too far behind. Who knows what could have been had he stayed a couple more years.

Yes he could have failed at Palace if he'd stayed, we will never know but that is my suspicion. Post Spurs he has had plenty of opportunities to rebuild his career. Plenty of players get rejected when young and come back so I am not convinced that Spurs ruined him. Maybe he was one of those players that is ahead of his age group but never progresses?

Poor penalty but easy to knock him and not mention that he scored an 87th minute equaliser that helped them get to extra time and eventually win the game.

Not arguing with this. But neither of us know. He could have thrived like Morrison, or he could have been of the many prodigious talents we knock out who end up being let go or sold to Peterborough.

No I agree all speculation. However over the years I have seen loads of young players at Palace and thought wow they are really going to be good only for them to plateau.
