So even before the last kick of the ball has taken place
the beloved journo’s are talking up Palace players to be poached

So some of it could be true ,some plane old journo needing to fill in his quota or Agents filling journo’s full of BS

So how do we keep :
Mitchell,Andersen & Guehi ?
Zaha,Olise,Ebs

Those that can go :
Milo , Eduardo

Who would you let go ?

Forever Palace Proud

The great- ‘should he stay or should he go debate!’

Lots of players out of contract this summer. Thankfully the ‘BIG’ names who other clubs may fancy have quite lengthy contracts in place.

For me….it’s a huge thank you and goodbye to Luka, Tomkins, Ferguson, McArthur, Ward & Zaha!

Just my opinion

I haven't seen any clickbait referring to Andersen and Mitchell leaving and I also can't see Guehi joining Arsenal just to be understudy to Saliba.

The club have already said that they won't let Zaha and Olise go in the same window so that just leaves Ebs from your list and I also haven't seen any mention of him leaving although he must have plenty of admirers

I think it is just as important to know when to sell as when to buy, if 2/3 clubs are wanting Guehi, and willing to pay 60/70m for him, i would certainly accept it, but i wouldn't sell any of the other key players, maybe we have Nelson from Galatasary lined up or Bella-Kotchap.

Not forget Richards! He has impressed big time as a central defender (in the absence of Andersen).

I can see both Arsenal and Spurs making low ball offers. As you say why go to Arsenal to be an understudy and if he wants to win trophies Spurs is the last place I would go.

Unless a big club comes in with a decent offer and a guarantee of a first team place he is better off staying with us.

The league table consistently tells a tale of the fate of those who sell their best players and do not have suitable replacements available. It's a merry go round. We are now in the happy position of being able to push on, this won't happen if we sell our best players. By all means get rid of those who are past it, lazy, or just not good enough, they eat into a finite budget, but we need to promote and reward excellence.

It might not be the type of chat that many are comfortable with. Or used to, as we've never really had many players that other clubs wanted.

But for us to progress we need to have a squad full of players that bugger clubs want. We either hold and enjoy their talents, or sell and reinvest in the next one.

I obviously don't want to see any go, but selling 1 good player a season will give us the funds to reinvest in the team.

If we can sell 1 for 70m and bring in a couple of others it works for me.

You mean teams that favour close man marking?

Edouard is on c£90k a week and we paid over £15m for him. Can't see anyone matching those wages and offering maybe a £10m transfer fee. To a lesser extent Mateta is on the same boat - and surely you can't get rid of the only 2 out and out strikers you have.

Reidewald is also under contract for 1 more year and seems happy to take his inflated wages and play very little football. IMHO will go back to Holland in 12 months on a free transfer and get paid about 1/3 of what he's on now.

Palace had 9 players out of contract this summer - 2, Ayew and Jeff S, have signed extensions so that leaves 7.

The general consensus os that only 1 RB will be renewed, probably Ward.
The 7 are - Wilf, Luka, Clyne, Jimmy Mac, Tomkins, Fergie and Butland (who seems to have agreed a deal with Rangers).

If anyone wants Guehi, Eze or Olise it would need to be for silly money. Additionally the player will need to ask for a move (or make noises in the background).

Our key players will leave this summer or next, this was the plan to make profits in order to purchase replacements or bring through academy replacements. It’s an ideal strategy for a club of our size.

It shows improvement after the days of signing players with no sell on value and huge wages.

This method hasn’t been detrimental to both Brentford and Brighton, it is a shame but that’s the reality for most clubs outside champions league. Enjoy them while they are here!
