Just read an article some clubs ( us included) charge parents for their child to be a mascot for game ( CPFC take 375 pounds from parents pockets ) What does Steve need with this money if the article is factual ? Has anyone on here undertaken such a task & what did one get for said 375 pounds ? Was it worth it whilst both Manchester clubs & 10 others clubs charge 0 pounds ). Gone are the days of schools, junior clubs & youth clubs having the experiences offered. Interested to hear from parents who have ? FYI A.Villa (500 pounds cost) you get a kit, drink, meet & greet & twitter shout -

The article states FROM £100-£375. This price depends on status of opposition, which player they want, whether a kit is included, hospitality included, how many match tickets needed for family/friends. I know this because if you look at my profile pic, that's my daughter as mascot away to Newcastle.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

We live in a free-market economy. If parents are mug enough to pay such money, then that's up to them. When I had a birthday, it was a few friends round for chocolate spread sandwiches, jelly and ice cream, pass the parcel and an egg and spoon race. My only ever football shirt apart from those that had to be bought for school PE lessons, was in Burnley colours and it came from a jumble sale.

This also relates to the furore about Arsenal players blanking a young girl fan while they signed a shirt for her. I was pleased to see, on the Access All Over clips, our lads, and Roy, say hello and give high fives to a young boy as they entered Southampton. Made his day I'm sure.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

When you consider it, you can go to Selhurst quite cheap if you live in the area. Doesn't need to be 375 anyway. That's a PS5.

Alan Smiths last game, lost 3-2, Downe got both of ours & it snowed. Great day though, She has no interest in football & nor has my grandson.

My son was a mascot during Peter Taylor’s tenure. Home to Norwich, awful game, lost 1-0. He chose to walk out with Marco Reich. It was expensive then but worth it. He is niw 26 and a S/T holder.

So if you are happy to wait and get lucky in the lottery, you can get it for free. If you are happy to pay, you can get it quicker. Like life really. Incidentally, my son is going to be a mascot for Palace Women this weekend. FOC
