How good is this kid playing right now! What does his celebration mean? He makes the letter T with his fingers whenever he scores...

Funny how Eze and his pal (Olise) are almost invisible during the first 45, then turn into monsters (seen with opposition eyes) in the 2nd half.

Eze is the greatest player in the world, ever
“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |

Massive transformation. He looks like he is getting more involved in the nitty gritty of the game, which is why he suddenly looks a different player. Under PV he seemed to shy away from tackles and hide if he wasn’t getting the ball. It’s all down to man management in my opinion. Roy has obviously taken him to one side and explained a few things, PV just dropped him! He has the ability to be up there with the best in this league, his mindset just needed changing. He is working harder and it shows.

He is working harder and it shows. On MOTD last night Danny Murphy actually questioned why PV didn’t play him. It seems like all the pundits have been behind Vieira saying he should have been given more time and would have achieved the same results Roy has. No mention of potential problems behind the scenes or the fact that Roy has changed our approach to getting the ball forward quicker, and no mention of the fact PV didn’t get the best out of Eze. Definitely the “old pals act” from most of them.

We are blessed to have Eze in our team. His ball play is majestic, he is agile and he is strong as demonstrated by his second goal yesterday. I just love watching him play even if he sometimes he fades into the background. Although it is clear that Roy is giving him more freedom now and he gets stuck in more than he did under PV.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

I remember being excited when we were rumoured to be signing him, even more excited when we signed him, and when he plays like yesterday it is fantasy football. I'm not quite Lanzo level in my infatuation with him, but it's great to see him enjoying himself again, as that's when he shines. He seems to be a very intuitive player, so it may just be Roy and Ray have limited their instructions for him in an attacking sense. I still harbour reservations about his ability to perform against the bigger teams, as his work off the ball still leaves a lot to be desired. Given 16-20 games a season we are the underdogs that is obviously quite a big issue. He still has a lot of room to develop and hopefully whoever is in charge next season can push him on to new heights as players like Eze and Olise are what make supporting a smaller team exciting; those little bits of magic in a relentless struggle to tread water.
