So One sacked one appointed

Used to be press conferences ( unless I missed it )

All I heard from blue suit man with red car was a reporter managing to
stop his ( non red car) due to traffic & ask him questions

Apart from this he’s said Nowt just hiding behind the CPFC Website ( arriving in style)
Or his welcome page get behind them script In programme

So Mr Parish please stand up love to hear from you before you ask us to renew our season tickets

Today is Roy’s first day at training and I would imagine there will be footage of this soon available together with interviews.
This will probably be available on the club website and available to the national media.
I’m not sure if Parish will be included in this exercise although he probably should.

On the subject of Parish it seems that a fair proportion of the fanbase has turned against him.
In my view this is slightly harsh as his achievements outweigh his failings.
Ten years in the Premier League and a brand new academy are no small achievements for longer standing supporters who remember the days in Division 3 and the muddy training ground at Mitcham.

That being said, I can see why there are reservations about Parish going forward.
The boardroom arrangements are opaque at best and , while it could be argued that this should not be the fans’ concern, there seems little doubt that it has a direct bearing on the confused direction of the club.
Parish has been responsible for setting up this structure which in truth has not worked
successfully.
The directors seem to have different objectives and this is having a detrimental effect on the decision making process.
It’s not a good look to have to go back to the manager who was deemed not good enough to do the role a couple of seasons ago.
It’s symptomatic of a club which is unclear of its strategy, other than of course to avoid relegation.
It’s noteworthy that the four main investors apparently met on Thursday to decide to dispense with Vieira’s services.
The thought of losing an estimated £150 million through relegation has had the effect of concentrating the investors’ minds to achieve consensus on at least one decision.

Now the thought has turned to the appointment of a new manager and we are hearing that Fonsesca has support from some ‘boardroom’ elements and Cooper or Favre from others.
Some of this could be agent talk, but nonetheless you can see boardroom splits emerging again on who we appoint and subsequently players that we sign.

Ideally the issue of control of the club will be resolved in the summer, with or without Parish.

Not a fan of him (met him in the Victoria he was not going as Simon Jordan was still in charge) but I believe he loves the club as we all do but the money situation like all of our owners has come to roost for him.
Roy was a good move but until the Main stand is built (take away the greenhouse look IF that saves much needed money) that is going to be a problem in the future.
I don't have the figures but I am guessing that the Sky money is around £90m and the tickets about £14m does not leave a lot for doing stuff and buying players.

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).

I think it’s more a case of wanting to hear him first & foremost.

Sometimes things don’t goto plan Ie the team we are about to play next could not sustain being on top 5 after winning the premiership themselves.

Yet I do think myself that the poor outcome of the Jan window to gain the x3 RB ,attacking mid,Goal shooter ( scorer) hindered Pat.

Parish / Freedman will likely tell us in sumner ( if they decide to part with Palace) it was through lack of investment from so called Investors & their understanding of English Prem football compared to Softball,NFL & Badketball or Hockey.

Reality is the Academy will do well for ROI !
Yet short sightedness has created a problem ( sure Pat will also tell us in ears to come )

But I am sure past managers have had the same challenges with key investment, not to win the league but to compete & look above mid table /14/13/12 th position.

Let’s see if Ray ( not sure about Roy) can giddy up the troops - but some way not drop to build the wall of China in defense but to get an attacking ethic

Like most Prem clubs once a couple of managers are thrown to the chopping block by the board - the Chairman or board is next !

Maybe you could put a few million into the club to blow on mediocre players and their high wages then, rather than expecting someone else to do it.

Time for you to "stand up"...to "show", Waddy (Waddy)

Former Palace boss Ian Holloway has some interesting comments - some favourable, some less so - about his relationship with the chairman in his recent book about football management.

So. f***ing. What.

People keep saying this in defense of Parish, like it's some sort of "get out of jail free" card. It's not. There are 36,000 people who love the club at Selhurst Park every week. Their passion cannot be doubted. I wouldn't want 35,999 of them managing the team or directing the company (if you're wondering, the comedy value of Willo in the dugout is the exception). I don't give a f*** if Parish loves the club. I just want him to be competent at his job.

Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God.
