Maybe just me but streaming our games seems to be a lot more difficult recently, so much so that our last couple of games I've just given up, I've got a Vpn and go through the many lists (reddit, sportshub etc) but it seems nigh impossible to get through adverts and the like, anyone out there with any advice or is it just a case of persevering, just the away games really as I go to all home fixtures

I can usually pick up a stream, without VPN, on my tablet through one of those 'Live Football TV' apps. Not too many ads to get through but you do have to patiently let them run their course. The issue for me recently has been intermittent freezing which seems to be happening more frequently. I guess this is the price you pay for piggybacking on a legitimate service.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

I would imagine that the people that provide the original stream ( the broadcast companies) who have paid for the right to air the game(s) have a vested interest in upgrading their technology on a regular basis to prevent (or at least minimise) the number of freeloading users / ways to piggyback the service.

All of these providers are unreliable sources and they offer different quality. Easiest but not very comfortable solution is to try some of them out from the websites (preferably before the game) which offer links and keep the option list in the background, so that in case of permanent troubles you can switch to another link. As said, not very convinient but you pay the price for not paying the price (which is in some cases far beyond financial limits for watching all games .....)

Because I’m in the middle of nowhere, my internet access is over 4G. It works well enough, but I have a monthly quota and cap of 200Gb. Do any of you computer whizzes know roughly how much streaming a game would take up? I have avoided doing this for fear of using up the complete monthly allocation. Appreciate any advice.

200Gb is fine for streaming, you should have no issues. When I am abroad I buy 50Gb of data for 2 weeks (in Egypt for example) and could stream matches quite comfortably on that. Data consumption is about 1 GB of data per hour when streamed on a smartphone, and up to 3 GB per hour for each stream of HD video on tablet or connected device. When you stream illegally you're directly funding Putin's war. Actually, I've just made that up but it won't be long til someone at Sky says it.
