After todays games unbelievably we are still 12th - downside we are only 4 points off bottom place…!! We are now in a relegation dog fight…!! Of everyone around us on paper we have the more favourable run in/remaining fixtures and IMO a comparatively better quality squad than most..!! But that all hinges on appointing a Manager who can get the most out of that perceived quality within the squad and the necessary results/points to keep us up…!! No game from hereon is going to be easy - could easily be a straight “knock out” between us and Forest on the last day of the the season..!! So Mr Parish IIMO - you’re mainly culpable for the position we find ourselves in - now you’ve got to “earn your corn” as the 3rd highest paid Director in the Premier League as the saying goes “this is why your paid the big bucks” …!! Over.to you Mr Parish..!! COYP

Parish can't do anything now. It's down to whoever manages the remaining games and mainly the players. They are the ones who have to wake up and realise their cozy little number is almost up. Devise a simple strategy, I suggest 4-4-2, up the work rate 25% and let's see how it goes.

IMO Parish now faces this biggest decision of/in his tenure as Palace Chairman - get this wrong and we are relegated everything could go South at a serious rate..!! What would Textor, Blitzer and Harris make of us being a Championship club - they're already hesitant to put it mildly in terms of investment. If we become a Championship Club that would only be magnified..!! That being the case you can forget all about the re-development of Selhurst Park - further development of the academy - it will all disappear..!! Look Parish is responsible/the decision maker for the Investors we have, overseeing and investment of incoming £1Bn Premiership revenue .over the last 10 years, the sacking of Vieria at this stage of the season etc.. Parish covets being the "Big Kahuna" in terms of being the face of Crystal Palace and remunerates himself accordingly - now he not only needs to "talk the talk" but also "walk the walk" and "do the do"..!! The appointment of the right Manager at this time is not only pivotal for this season, but also potentially critical for the near, medium and long term future of the Club..!! I'm not being over dramatic here - but this really is a massive juncture for the future of the Club - and it's all on Parish..!! As I said he covets the big chair and everything that goes with it - now he needs to prove that he can also "do the do" and get/lead us out of the mess - a lot of which Parish himself is responsible for..!! COYP Come on, get real. All of Parish's appointments have been reactive, covering up the mess he created in the first place. This one is no different, so it could work, he might find the right man, but then again only desperadoes would line up for this job what with Parish's record to date. It mainly down to the players now.

Mate Unless I'm misinterpreting/misunderstanding what you are saying think we are basically agreeing - Parish is largely culpable - in terms of where we are and why..!! I agree the players will have a massive say in/on our future - but for them to be able maximise/demonstrate their potential/quality will largely depend on the Manager in post/appointed..!! Hence it's all on Parish and his decision for next Manager..!! As I said massive for the future direction/fortunes of the Club..!! We'll soon see if Steve P is up to the task/job..!! COYP

COYP Yes, it passed my mind that basically we are in agreement. I think my doubts are that given Parish's record to date, I don't hold out much hope on his making the correct appointment and it's now down to lady luck. And effort. Players need to take responsibility.

So much rides on Wilf at this point. He can win games single handed. The question is, will he be motivated enough to help keep Palace up? He's most likely gone at the end of this season either way. Perhaps one reason that Parish is thinking about trying to get Woy back is because he just might be the man to get the most out of Wilf over the remaining games. If Wilf checks out mentally now, I think Palace are destined for the Championship.

The options appear very limited and I think there's quite a lot (of the calibre we would like) that wouldn't touch us with a bargepole.

After today's shambles - if you are Parish surely you'd want to make the most of the 2 week International break and get your man in as soon as possible. So he/she can use the time to work with the squad and prepare for the remaining fixtures, review the squad, implement their strategy, work on formations, tactics, best line up etc.. To retain our Premiership status. I'll lay you money we won't have appointed anyone by next weekend..!! Meantime SP and DF will sit in their "Ivory Tower" procrastinating over an ever shrinking pool of potential takers for the job..!! I sincerely hope I'm wrong - but have an awful feeling I'm right..!! time will tell. COYP

No money to spend, same bunch of unfit, lazy players that McCarthy had for today's game. Working with incompetents Parish and Freedman. Guarantees that there will be money to spend next season should one pull off PL survival? What fool would take on this job?

There will be loads after it. Football management has no downside. Get sacked and get your million a year contract paid up. It’s a win win
