Pushing up Anderson and bringing in Richards, offer tactics with courage.
Andersen will need help in Midfield but what a range of passing he has and he sees opportunities way before others with a "pass on".

Why not, all we saw under Roy and PV, side passing midfield players. We want our forwards looking for the channels so Andersen can attack the space..

We have had no one fill Kouyate (midfield/defensive role) and fans have said we miss this.

Just a honest thought, yet PV had no courage to try it!!

There’s a reason we call an electrician to wire a house and not a plumber.

He doesn't have the mobility to be a midfielder and he wouldn't get the same space to spray his long passes. I would like to see Richards in the team, but I'd try him at right back rather than move Andersen. Him and Guehi have formed a solid partnership so I see no need to change that. If Paddy gets the job I can't see him experimenting either given he played a back four with the U21s.

The defence, for all it's perceived weaknesses, has been the one solid part of the team - so change that at your peril!

It's a moot point as to what needs fixing first - an unsupportive midfield or a shot-shy forward line. We needed a more productive midfield and brought in Logonga and Ahamada. Of the two Ahamada has shown promise in cameos. As for the forwards, at first sight a basket-case but if not getting any supply it is hard to criticise.

There is so much talent available it is Vieira's inability to find the right team, coach them, restore fitness levels together with a lack of adventure (persevering with Ayew and Schlupp for example) that has caused his downfall.

I am not sure who (but NOT Roy Hodgson!) will be able to recognise the talent and motivate them but it can't be that difficult!

It doesn't require courage to do something that is so obviously wrong.

The can pick a pass sure, but he doesn't not have the tenacity to play in that role. Might only play a few meters apart but its such a different role

If you wanted more passing out from Andersen you would play the three with Geuhi wide centre back left and Richards wide centre back right. That way we could possibly bypass Clyne and Mitchell but we would have to drop a midfielder or a forward. My choice would be to do that and put three in midfield - Doucoure, Ahamada, Lokonga, and play Wilf Inside forward and Eze or Ayew false nine. It's obviously not great but more solid than we have been. We need to make more of set pieces in order to score.
We can go back to two CD's against the poorer sides.

I’ve noticed that Anderson on occasions steps into midfield to win the ball from deep lying forwards and he competes aggressively and often successfully in this regard.
However, I would be reluctant to break up his strong partnership with Guehi which has been just about the only positive aspect of our play this season.
I also think playing at the back gives him more space to pick a pass and he would be denied this space if he played further forward.
With regard to 3 at the back , I’ve seen him interviewed where he said his preference was to play in a back 4.
That particular debate becomes academic anyway in any event in the absence of proper wing backs .

Whoever picks the team on Sunday I would expect Ayew and Schlupp to feature . They were regulars under Roy and PV for a reason

Unquestioning loyalty to poor tactics perhaps?

Id be the first one up and cheering if Olise and Eze could pair their undoubted ability with some positional disiplin (Schlupp)
Id also like a goal (come on we all want a goal ) but when you have numerous strikers who dont look like they have one in them id be picking the guy that at least runs around a lot and wins you a few free kicks up the pitch (Ayew)

Until the other guys show up and realise their undoubted ability just isnt enough in this division Im afraid Ayew and Schulpp is what we are going to get
