I found this piece of stone on the beach in Cardigan Bay last weekend. Some of the angles make it look man-made, but it has no markings. It feels like stone, but extremely unlikely any man-made objects have been fossilised. Are there computer programs that might be able to identify it from the photo (s) ?

On our beach there are a plethora of dog walkers but they are respectful to others in that they remove any excreta their canine deposits. I am just pondering whether the owner of a dog had no consideration whatsoever and that the object you discovered is solidified dog faeces.

But I haven't seen any white dog 5hlte since the 1970's. And the dogs sphincter must be like an icing piping nozzle

I don't think you can get a good resolution picture onto the HOL. If I were to guess, and my eyesight's crap, I would say part of a building or structure of some type. Maybe already broken or in ruins and used as ballast in a ship. Usually local archaeologists don't mind being asked.

Defo man made. What it is though is anyone's guess. Hope you find out.

a bit of pottery utensil....weathered by the sea could be 2 years old or a 2,000 year old bit of an Amphora Monetary value : 0 quid

The first picture makes it look man made. If I was to guess something from a ship that sunk. Perhaps check with your local archeology society?

An interesting find FH. It looks suspiciously like a fragment of super-heated titanium/vanadium composite commonly used by Klingons 2 million years ago in the manufacture of manifolds on the hypersonic power generators used on their inter-galactic attack vessels. It probably broke away from the craft as it entered the Earth's atmosphere to assess the opportunity for conservation of the planet. As yours is the only piece ever found they clearly realised there was no hope and, so, gave up the search.

Well, at least unlike the last 'strange object' you found, this one doesn't look like it's going to explode anytime
