I have seen Gyokeres ply his trade for Coventry a few times.
He is athletic with good pace and movement and holds the ball up well.
He possesses power and strength and has the ability to turn and drive at defenders.
Chris Hughton signed him for Brighton from a club in Sweden.I believe Coventry paid £1.1 Mill for his services.

Interesting one but surely there's a 16 year old in Scotland chomping at the bit to join the youth team and never blacken our first eleven teamsheet, or even find themselves on loan at Lincoln.

Just watching him again today. Holds the ball up well, skilful, good turn of speed. Could be a shrewd signing

We should raid Coventry for Gyokeres and Hamer. Do it before West Ham does what it usually does and signs them first.

Wow I must have been watching a different game he showed nothing to convince me he would be a prolific goal scorer in the Premiership.COYP

I thought he had a really good first touch and was able to stand up against some physical stuff from the Luton defence. Didn’t get many chances but I thought he looked better than all 3 forwards we have at the moment.
Luton are Tony Pulis’s Stoke. Lots of big strong players and play direct. Congratulations to them, but watching them won’t be pretty next year. Thought Coventry were the better footballing side.

Still if we can get Gyokeres as a result I would be happy. Far better than Edouard or Mateta. Probably West Ham bound!

I wonder if there are any stats on how successful championship goal scorers are in the PL? Being sold to a PL club I mean rather than being promoted.

Over a 10 year period I can think of a notable few like Tony and Watkins but West Ham seem to buy a striker every season and thank god we dodge that bullet.

Just a gut feel but I suspect that the majority don't make it.

He’s a better player than Akpom. A real all rounder up front. A poor man’s Kane if you like but as others have said, he is miles better than what we have. I also like Hamer, but he is too much like Eze, so not really required.

The other one at Coventry who I highly rate is the Jamaican international 26 year old Kasey Palmer who came on yesterday but had to go off again due to a hamstring problem. He is an attacking midfielder who would be a good replacement for McArthur.
