A know a few on here knock his displays but seems to offer something going forward and on occasion is a lively goal threat so much more than others (wilf excluded) so maybe a more advanced role when he's back may be an option

I'll keep saying this until PV or anyone else takes note.

Schlupp does not have the discipline, inclination nor technical ability to start, especially in midfield, for a PL side.

What Schlupp does have is incredible athleticism, directness, an awesome lash of the ball and enough technical ability to see him through a shorter period of the game with a clear and solitary instruction/purpose.

Bring him on for impact. Do not start him.

My 'Insights of a footballing genius' tutoring sessions are available at 26p per hour. Lunch provided.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I agree that he's better as an impact player and is great at just running straight at a defence. If you watch him when he starts he so often seems to get caught ball watching and even jogs back to help the defence when he should be running. I genuinely question whether his heart is really in it. I feel sorry for Hughes who has demonstrated he has a real hunger to fight and scrap in midfield but for whatever reason often finds himself on the bench.

Don’t disagree that he is a good player for coming on from the bench. However, if he does play it certainly shouldn’t be central midfield. How PV doesn’t see that is beyond me?

Maybe it's more to do with not having enough players? He is left sided and much better when playing as an attacking midfielder and providing a outlet for Zaha

Not sure about the tutorial, but lunch is tempting.

I actually quite like Schlupp. At least he makes an effort to take on the competition. PV seems to prefer him in the starting lineup and who am I to argue, but he has made some useful contributions from the bench.

Just don't write him off altogether.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

I expect he will be one who has his contract renewed due to his versatility. Kind of a jack of all trades - master of none.

Well he obviously did see his limitations in that position when aquiring two new options in the January window . PV obviously just trusted him more than others to keep posession even if he obviously was more of a liability without it leaving all the hard graft to Decoure .

Just in case it was not know POG I am a massive fan of Schlupp! A very subjective opinion however it is mine.

For added insight and context, I am also a massive fan of a Roast dinner with all the trimmings. I do not want one for breakfast however.

What a great quote at the bottom! I’m going to use this from now on

“This is a crisis, a large crisis.... in fact if you have a moment, it’s a 12 storey crisis, magnificent entrance hall, carpeting throughout, 24 hour portage , and an enormous sign on the roof saying “This , is a large crisis” - Edmund Blackadder

When sky advertise future games they feature a picture of 2 star players from each side. For years it has been Zaha. For the Man City game step forward Mr Schlupp.

Just amused me given the comments on here.
