Hope link works

Although funny interview seems he wants to play with edouard in a front 2 unless it’s all just a joke , but trying to read between the lines

He’s having a laugh…he should be on a salary linked to goals.

No goals no pay - simples, everyone’s a winner.

He'd owe us money by now.

Honestly, so fed up with our 'strikers' that I don't listen to any of this rubbish. He should perhaps be training on making runs, or being able to header, before wasting time on social media. I find it a bit rich to see this. He'll be gone in the off season but presumably we'll keep Edouard as who's going to pay anything like the amount we did? I don't particularly like having a go about our players but these two are just beyond parody with their effort and striking ability.

have said that for sometime , and all his goals are in front of goal not to one side , wish edouard was playing when wilf was injuryed in his position , done well before , and we dont know what goes on in training between mateta and edouard

Literally anyone who can stand can kick a ball into a net. He needs to work on everything else AND his striking. He missed two quite simple chances to get a shot on goal against Liverpool. Instead he hit the bar - not sure how he murdered the other chance. Tripping over his own feet is what it looked like.

That’s the problem , I’ve seen him get his legs tangled quite a few times , but I do “tin hat on” still think there is some quality in there , that Brighton goal that brilliant over head kick against West Ham last year somehow just going past the post , I do believe there is a player in there I really do

yes could do more positioning but he tried a chip instead of hitting not many players in the prem could pull that shot off and was unlucky when hitting the bar , we ask to much of our strikers we all want the 20 goals a season striker , but name all our 20+ goals a season players since 1993 , and most clubs rely on other positions to make up for there strikers major short falls

The way I see it is that we need a very hard working striker who's going to create some of his own chances. Someone hassling the defenders. The opposite of what we have really. Murray was our last decent one in this respect.
I figured he tried a chip - didn't look like it was going to work from that distance and didn't look hit right at all. But even with highlights I find it quite hard to tell exactly how it went so wrong. I was at the other end of the pitch so not the best view.

Yes but Haaland was being criticised in his dry patch and he is a out and out striker that any club would have , goals give confidence sadly our strikers dont have much , and when they do get on a roll we drop them when i mean roll score 2 or get in all the right positions , best i could offer

Chance conversion adds some context to things.

Both Edouard ad JPM have missed 2 big chances each. It demonstrates nothing more than the fact that we don't give them many big chances.

Whilst Edouard has a Shot conversion rate of 8.8%, JMP is down at 2.9%. It feels awful, but its similar to plenty of other good finishers (Ronaldo, Eriksen, De Bruyne etc) and some notoriously bad ones e.g. Welbeck. So potentially more of a indication that he isn't afraid to shoot, or that the chances we give him are difficult chances. Which I think is fair.

For us, Wilf has missed the most big chances, at 4. But does have a better than average Shot conversion rate at 11.8%

I still think there is a good enough player in JPM, he's shown he can finish, and quite outrageously. Our issue, as its been for many seasons is not getting enough crosses into the box. Statistically 1 of the worst in the league.

There are not many, so someone could work it out easily, but how many of JPM's goals for Palace were from crosses? I suspect 75%+

Maybe we should cross more...maybe inverted wingers limits our strikers best chance of scoring?
