We are now two thirds of the season in and curious how people would rate our squad so far. I'd go with....

Doucoure, already player of the season, by far our best player.

Zaha, poor by his standards but by far our best attacking player.

Good. Olise, Andersen, Guehi.

Average. Mitchell, Clyne, Guaita.

Below average. Ward, Eze, Schlupp, Ayew.

Worthless. Mateta, Edouard.

Hughes, Richards both solid when needed.

The rest not enough minutes to rate.

When you look at it, the defence has been ok. The midfield has floundered - mainly due to personnel shortage. The Attack has been absolutely pants. The strikers are not even worth rating. Why waste our time on them. They don't use their time trying for us. Honestly, Aylott, Barber - the bad old days, at least they tried

I think we've been OK this season I have to say.

There's not been much to get too excited about however I am equally not too 'angry' which I often can be however I retain that right as a football fan.

It's difficult presently given the unfavourable fixture list. Provided we avoid catastrophe I think this season has been a very non-descript one which in a way is disappointing given last season held so much promise but historically it is hard to feel any way but joyful at mid-table PL obscurity.

A lack of movement in the transfer market, early cup exits, goals drying up given options in attack, an under-resourced midfield and the drop in form of Mitchell would be the lowlights for me.

Highlights include the performances of Hughes and Richards, the odd moment of Olise magic, Wilf being Wilf and the ever strengthening CB partnership. I also think Vinnie had done well in goal where for all my love for him I have doubted him on occasions.

We're still only part way through and I hope there are a few more moments of elation to come, there will be inevitable low points, however at this stage I'm just hoping for survival to see what the next year brings.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Without wishing to sound like a broken record, its also where you are played, Schlupp is not a CM, Eze is not a No8 and Ward no longer a RB. and i dont think anyone knows Ayews position. but as where the have been played i think you are spot on.

The defence is good. Central midfield bang average.
Zaha, Olise and Eze have had good seasons.
The forward line is pony. Ian Wright should come in and train our forwards. Big mates with PV and a Palace legend its a no brainer.

Mostly average and ok with the exception of Ayew Mateta Schlupp & Edouard who have been truly abysmal.

I do wonder why people have a pop at Guaita , he is top 4 or 5 for most saves this season and without him would be lower in table

I think his 'stay at home' style often draws ire as he is a 'shot-stopper' but I'd add a brilliant one at that.

Also, e could be an absolute w@nker for all I know but I've always had the impression he's quite lovely

I think because there are parts of his game that are really poor.

- Kicking (there's at least one 'Jesus Christ' clearance per game)
- Commanding his box (there's at least one barrage from a defender per game because they've had to clear a ball he didn't come for).

Both those things invite unnecessary pressure. I wonder if part of the reason we've abandoned this possession based style is Guaita's lack of ability with his feet? He used to touch the ball far, far more often last season but never looked comfortable.

His shot stopping is good. I think it was really good a couple of years ago when he pulled off saves I didn't think possible. I'd say he's comfortably in the lower half of Prem goalkeepers.
