I was going to put this thread into Palace Talk, but decided to broaden the idea.

the game against the Scousers was simultaneously terrifying and very entertaining. Got me to thinking, a 0-0 can actually be good fun.

my favourite, approx 2007 Palace vs Burnley....Eagles down to 9 men for the last 40 minutes. The first half was a snore-fest with most of the audience chatting and bored. Early into the second half the ref gave one of us a red....and suddenly the fans put down the prawn sandwiches and started to give a f..ck. Then we got a second Red.....and all hell broke loose in the Arthur Wait.

Burnley got the scent of blood and threw the kitchen sink at us. It was a 40 minute siege on goal with another heroic performance from Speroni. Increasingly you could see the frustration from the Burnley players & fans. And a massive cheer from us on the final whistle. A great day's entertainment. many angry faces in the away dressing room.

what is your favourite 0-0. ?.....from the World Cup or anywhere else ?

Interesting thread I can’t pin one , one that sticks in my mind although can’t remember it very well as was very young was when we drew 0-0 at home to Portsmouth , it was the one where andy Roberts let a pile drive from 30 yards at least ref blew full time while ball was in the air it smashed the back of the net everyone celebrating until we realised it was full time…. Can’t remember the year and typical palace luck

“This is a crisis, a large crisis.... in fact if you have a moment, it’s a 12 storey crisis, magnificent entrance hall, carpeting throughout, 24 hour portage , and an enormous sign on the roof saying “This , is a large crisis” - Edmund Blackadder

One that has always stuck in my mind, was our league cup 3rd round replay v Aston Villa in 1978, hard to believe now, but the crowd was 33,000, it was an incredible atmosphere.

i remember another 0 0 against Liverpool back in April 1980 . It was the first season back in the old Div 1 when we were labelled the team of the 80s after a cracking start up to xmas , then it started to go wrong, and we dropped from third to mid table. So when we played Liverpool in April i think they needed to win to take the league so there was 45K in Selhurst and we went toe to toe with them and it was a cracking game, I think the highlights maybe shown on the Big Match revisited on ITV 4 Saturday mornings in the next couple of months as they are showing that season at the moment

We drew 0-0 at Anfield in the FA Cup when we were 3rd division which was a bit special back when the FA Cup really meant something and especially as that Liverpool team went on to win the European Cup two years on the trot
