I'll be honest, I never ever watched 'World of Sport' so I was never in a position to see enjoy his talents. I know he was a well-respected presenter, though, and his passing is very sad. Nothing against him, but I had no interest in wresting (which isn't a sport) or in watching seven horse races on a Saturday afternoon when not attending a Palace match. I remember a mate at school telling me that 'World of Sport' had showed highlights of the US Fire Engine Championships on the previous Saturday!

The ear-pull was particularly painful to watch.

Sad news, great presenter from the days where you'd watch sport and just get the sport without all the leftist crap that's bundled in with it today.

Interesting to see him referring to 'soccer' and not football, which proves a point I and others made recently in a different thread, that the word soccer was in common usage in this country well before the yanks coined it.

I only know Dickie from watching back old World of Sport footage as it was before my time, but essential viewing for a wrestler. RIP.
