When i used to go their was a Pub on all corners of the ground, Griffin Park, the only one with a pub on all corners

I was only telling my dear wife about this last night when we were enjoying a tipple in a Public House.

I have been to 'Griffin Park' to see us play and I also visited the ground one evening, partaking in a challenging football quiz against supporters of the club.

In terms of watching our team at Brentford, I have a faint memory of attending a cup game, possibly in the late 70s, and we were defeated.Tony Burns played in goal.

I went out there with some Brentford mates earlier on this season. Unfortunately, not many good pubs near the new stadium. There's the Express Tavern, which is right next to Kew Bridge station, but it's a bit souless. There are a couple of others near there on the river, also quite dear.

Brentford fans still go to the 4 corner pubs of their old stadium for a pre-match beer (although I think one of them's closed now). We went to The Griffin, and it had a nice atmosphere, I think they'd welcome away fans. It's about a 15 min walk from the stadium.

And an Austrian landlord (Gerhard) with an excellent reputation as a chef.
