Hope you both are a little less sad now we seem to have sorted the midfield issue with the arrival of both Ahamada and Sambi Lokonga.

I'm not convinced our prayers have been fully answered but then a club that couldn't afford to refill the soap dispensers in the toilets during the World Cup break was hardly going to spend £40 million on Connor Gallagher!

What makes it worse, is owners want to buy into another club, Textor already taking player from one off his clubs to another and massive protests and we have SP now out off his league in financial terms, we need new owners, these middle east people have so much money, don't want one off them as just want a owner with a bit more cash than parish and can take Palace to next level.

Wilf, Luka, Macca and Tomkins will be probably all be off in the summer. It's inevitable though I will miss Wilf. Financially it's not great, but we won't have any old warhorses left sucking money out of the club. Hopefully something to build on in the summer window.
I ain't got nuthin' funny to say. Sorry. |

I was actually pretty happy we signed anybody. The Arsenal lad looks like he’s got unfulfilled potential. The perfect fit for CPFC.

I expected nothing more from the January window. We addressed the area where we are weak at present and for that I am very relieved as I could see one injury to Doucoure putting us in real trouble. I suppose my only surprise is that we didn’t bring someone back from loan to cover Wilf’s absence. I am guessing that Eze or Edouard will play in that position or you could try something different and play Ayew there (as he did in the World Cup.) Knowing our luck though it will probably be Schlupp who gets the nod.

On January 12, I posted under the title of “Ambitions I'm gobsmacked. We get a young player who by all accounts has already made a serious impact in the Bundesliga, who has a seemingly great future, and who our manager wants, for a sensible fee (£10M) and you're disappointed? Really. You're a bit like a Brighton fan who a year ago was disappointed they'd signed Caceido because they'd never heard of him (similar player, similar profile at the time of signing to Ahamada) except twelve months later he's worth £70 million. And we get a vastly talented loan from a top six side who, ok, has gone off the boil a little bit but no reason we can't turn him around (we've done it before, often enough) and the loan of whom not only provides competition for places where it's needed but also lets us keep our powder dry for the summer window. I'm not fussed that we didn't sign a right back. We need one, but Clyne and Ward are good for three more months and I'd rather get the right option in the summer. Another striker I'd have liked too, but with our now-improved midfield (see above) it might just be that our existing strikers start scoring more with the better service they'll be getting. I was delighted yesterday. Not a perfect window, but by no means a bad one either. Well done Dougie. I'd imagine PV is a happier man this morning.

TBF wasn't the original post made before either of the two signings was announced?
