Forest struggling to get their squad down to 25 reportedly and therefore looking to offload O’Brien. We were rumoured to be after him last season so could be a decent shout?

He cannot have impressed if they are trying to get rid of him. On that basis why should we now be interested , especially as ,if we were actually in for him , he has already rejected us. COYP

I saw this. Interesting, as he's probably a realistic target.

I wouldn't put his Forest experience down to much other than their poor planning. True, he obviously didn't do enough to force his way into the team but the way they went about their business always made this sort of outcome a possibility or even a probability. Forest simply signed players almost for the sake of it, duplicating purchases (O'Brien AND Gibbs White?) because they needed bodies and couldn't risk ending up with nothing at all. Their chaos may end up being someone else's gain.

As for O'Brien, what I saw of him last year was impressive; in some ways he's a pound shop Macca, and over ten years younger. I doubt his six months at Forest have damaged him irreparably and at a sensible price (which is likely) and with Vieira's coaching, I think he'd be well worth bringing in.

Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God.

Reading back on the old thread, we were after Will Hughes at the time and it was a case of one or t'other. As syd has said, just because he hasn't shone at Forest doesn't mean he can't do a job for us.

Lewis O'Brien was a starter for Nottm Forest in the early parts of the season but all his appearances since October have been from the bench.

I’d take him. We were supposedly in for him start of the season. Decent ball control and can get up the pitch .

Forest stockpiled centre mids so I wouldn’t read too much into it.

He seems to the have energy we miss from Gallagher. He would provide the press on the opposition we badly miss.

Sitting on the Forest Bench he needs a challenge. Could he be tempted by being told that such challenge is available at Selhurst park?

Loan with option to buy, or compulsion to buy if he comes good maybe expensive if he comes good, does mean that he can be returned if found not to perform for Palace.

Hughes is one of our better players right now

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.
