Two noteworthy home performances earning valuable points.
United away??
Very difficult game, given their current form and another point at their place would be a fantastic result.
1-1.

Not sure we can put in a third big performance but if the back four stays as it is and Hughes partners Doucoure in the midfield then why not but I would go for a 0-0.

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).

Man Utd will score at least 2 goals whilst we will draw a blank.

I’d happily take the draw if tabled now.

I think it should be close, they’ll have confidence at home. This could lead to us seeing out a good draw or you never know nicking it. The better odds I would suggest are on United just seeing it through however.

I’ll go for a repeat 1-1 out of nothing but wild optimism.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Given the prominence currently being given to the home game a week Saturday against the Unmentionables, I thought it time to resurrect this thread about the somewhat more imminent encounter at the Theatre of Screams.

We were lucky to get something against them at SP. They really should have killed the game off but we earned a valuable point. I'm not so sure we'll get away with it again unless we up our game. Hopefully Sambi Lokonga and/or Ahamada will get some meaningful minutes. I expect both will start on the bench, though. However, if PV were to start one or both of them, that would be a telling indictment of what he thinks about his other midfield optoions.

As for the score, having been pleasantly surprised that we actually brought 2 players in, Im feeling optimistic and hoping for a draw 1-1 (or even a sneaky win - after all, we got a draw and 2 wins there before last season's narrow defeat)

A draw is my prediction. I feel it in my bones.

United 8 Palace 9

Wout Weghorst gives United an 8-0 half-time lead, becoming the first player in history to score with his left foot, right foot, head, ear, chest, knee, arse, and p****. But after a rousing half-time team talk delivered by the ghost of Shaun Derry, Jeffrey Schlupp comes off the bench to score seven; David Ozoh ties things up with a fifty-two-yard effort from his own half and the game is settled by a Vicente Guaita header from Michael Olise's 97th-minute corner.

Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God.

I have a feeling we will nick a point again.

I'm interested in how PV will introduce the newcomers. Straight in? Subbed on in the second half? Someone will get the message that their services are surplus to requirement. Will Schlupp be dropped to make way? Will Hughes ever get a run in the team or merely be the bit part player? Perhaps Eze will make way?

Probably worth a correct score bet.

A narrow defeat, but I thought that in the last two games. This seems like a very disjointed season where we have not found our rhythm due to the World Cup and FA cup.

I predict we don’t score, so the best we can hope for is a nil, nil draw. Unless someone waved a magic wand after the transfer window closed, I’m not sure how where an improvement to our goal scoring is going to come from.

Although I could be wrong, I don’t think PV will throw the new players straight in so expect the same team as usual minus Wilf and probably a 2 or 3-0 loss.
