This is likely going to be a bruising encounter against a billionaire's Burnley. Even when they were sh!t we have historically struggled to turn them over, but now they are a well drilled team who overcome their limitations with incredible fitness, aggression and energy. Bruno being out will be a big loss for them and there is the possibility that Trippier is out too. Those two absentees could swing things in our advantage, as they are probably their two best players by some margin.

Another draw would be a very respectable result, but I just feel that they might underestimate us at their peril. Maybe I'm still drunk on last night's late equaliser, but I think we might sneak this one 2-1.

I went to the away cup fixture and was not overly impressed by them. They do seem to be riding a wave atm though which can be a massive factor in things.

My stomach says we'll lose, but it will be tight.

My brain says another draw looks likely. I would not complain if so.

My heart says we will come out firing after last night and finally put them in their place. They really are not that good and we do have enough quality to put them to the sword.

Final stance: 1-1

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Fabulous result for us last night.
BF.Sam used to always remind us to respect the point!!
Newcastle??
Challenging with their superb defensive record and I would be happy with another point, 1-1.

At least a point

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

Newcastle have only conceded 2 goals in their last 10 PL games.
I believe Guimaraes might be missing.
Olise has the ability to give Dan Burn a really challenging time.

2 goalless draws against them already this season suggests that we have the measure of them. They are still punching above their collective weight. Bouyed up from last night's performance I predict we end their undefeated streak. 2-0 Palace. Miserable geordie pigeon fanciers to trudge home with their tails between their legs

It's amazing how a draw against Man Ure results in an almost total change in our mindset.

I want to see what team PV puts out before finalizing a prediction. He said there will be changes on Saturday. I shall be furious if Hughes is dropped for Schlupp and/or if Tomkins comes in for Richards. Having given Will and Chris PL starts last night, they need to be given the manager's vote of confidence against Newcastle where their skills apparent from last night will be much needed.

I expect the game to be close as were the two games at their place earlier in the season (although we rode our luck on the league game).

If Hughes and Richards retain their place then I think we'll get something out of the game - hopefully a win (1-0?)

1-1 for me too which will leave the chasing pack (which is quite big) a bit too much for most of them. Will was awesome last night as were some others also and hopefully Pat will look at last nights video before picking the side.

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).

I predict Newcastle will not endear themselves to us. 0-1 to them. - a penalty.

Living amongst too many Newcastle fans who think they’re the new Barcelona I would “love it” if we turned them over. They’re on a very good run but so were Manure. Players will get tired after playing last night so good subs will be needed. I’ll go for 1-1 as I don’t think we score enough goals to win this.

A feel a decent win is coming for us, especially that they are missing their main man Guimaraes.

2 nil to us.
