By all accounts had a mate last night, unfit and out of match fitness. Can’t see him getting anywhere near City first team as the run in gets more serious.

It's a good call... but unfortunately too good. Can't see City releasing him. They will have serious fixture congestion with CL, expected FA Cup run to fit into an already shortened season. If he goes out on loan it would likely be back to his hometown club, Leeds.

I think that's a good call and how can a cheeky bid hurt? Worst that happens is that they say "no". It's a yes from me. City can and probably will use him with their congested fixture list but it's not like they don't have other options so they don't have to. And Guardiola might just conclude that he'd better off playing 20 Prem games than a small handful of various sub appearances at City to get him prepared for next year. As for his fitness, he's clearly sub-par at the moment but he was playing in the bloody World Cup a few weeks ago so he can't be that unfit. And he'd be perfect for us, next to Doucoure. As for "he'd probably go on loan to Leeds", I'm not so sure. I think Guardiola might well prefer him to develop in our playing style rather than Leeds'. Plus, you're forgetting our secret weapon in all this; Vieira was a City player and a City coach, so they'd be letting one of their own (philosophically) bring their player back to his best. Like I said, good call. It's a question well worth asking.
