Has anyone ever taken one of the coaches organised by the club for the away games (the tickets for which are sold on the club's website)? If so, how do you find them? I usually take the train, but with the rail strikes almost every week I'm keen to hear if people think they are a good option.

Coaches leave from behind the club car park behind the Main Stand

It's VERY strictly no alcohol allowed on them

It's not the quickest way of travelling, just getting out from Selhurst onto the motorway can take an age

They usually over-allow by quite a lot of time, meaning a long stop at a motorway services to kill 'extra time'. This is because the club you are visiting are usually stict that away coaches cannot arrive more than 90 minutes before kick off

All of this makes for quite a long and sedate day out.

Take a phone/radio, charger etc because they often don't even have so much as a radio on!

There are lots of away coach 'regulars' - so to a newcomer it could feel a bit 'cliquey'. But equally you could meet lots of likeminded new friends.

It's probably cheaper than going by train

It usually parks really close to the away end turnstiles, so at the end of the game, 1 minute walk and you're back onboard

No hassles finding parking like if you went by car, or navigating past the home support to get to the station

If you want stress free and aren't in a hurry, then this is a good option, but don't expect to get to the away ground 3 hours before the game for a session in a nearby pub.
