BBC have produced a program lauding themselves for 100 years of unbiased fantastic news reporting.

100 years is true, unbiased- maybe the first seventy years.

A waste of licence fee payers money to produce their own PR

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

I would love to put the boot into the BBC but as I haven't watched the news on any channel for around 20 odd years in all fairness I can't.

I gave up because it was no longer the news but a 30 minute opinion programme. I suspect that when people talk about bias this is what they refer to.

You could probably do an actual news programme in 5 minutes on most days.

From news broadcaster, to news manufacturer.

let me guess......

- climate change
- atonement for the Black Slavery industry ( do not mention other slavery trades involving white slaves )

- the outrageous state of differential pay for different genders
- climate change

- Cheddar Man ate Saltfish & Ackee

- LGBTQ
- Brexit is bad

- Thatcher was the same as Hitler, ( do not mention Stalin )
- The city on the river Foyle is called LondonDerry

- Everything in Russia or China is bad, despotic, criminal
- people who follow Christianity need re-education & therapy. Other religions ? tumbleweed.

- Queen Boudicca had an all female senior military team, the white men were responsible for cleaning out the toilets. The demographic of the Iceni tribe was like a Premier League team.

- climate change
- Julius Caesar's bisexuality is more important than any of his political or military achievements. Something similar with Alexander the Great. Trans ? do not mention Nero who chopped the knackers off a bloke he fancied.

#defundthebbc . . . That. Is. All.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

Nah. They just ignore things like this and carry on regardless.
Nothing will change.

On the BBC news yesterday the reporter was discussing the sad murder of the girl in the North West and said that a third suspect had been apprehended just 5 kilometres away.

For once I have been watching a BBC show, University Challenge.

This season is about former alumni rather than students.

I recognised quite a few well known faces so I was not surprised when the media pointed out that a huge number of them were connected to the BBC either working for them now or in the past.

Nice work if you can get it.

It's the equivalent of game show and talk show hosts inviting their mates onto the show.

The routine BBC bashing in these pages never fails to amuse. It’s as predictable as the Biden or “lefty” bashing. All are favourite targets for the rehearsal of group think and prejudicial bile.

You can say whatever you like about the BBC, but it’s independence from government is much envied around the world and it’s output often the go to source of real information and trusted more than local broadcasters.

I much prefer it’s coverage to anything coming from a privately owned business. People like Murdoch, Harmsworth and Barclay seek to influence public opinion in ways which suit their political views. They don’t report the news.

For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally.
