Pretty much anyone connected with the club will know what we need in terms of incoming players to strengthen the team / squad & the general squad / player pyramid - I have a lot more faith these days in our recruitment ability given the way that the club is shaping up & the fact that we have senior managers in place that have been there for several years gaining experience & becoming better at what they do - its easy to nit pick & point out certain areas saying we needed this or that position as though its as easy as going to Tesco & picking one up off the shelf but the reality is that pretty much every transfer deal will take a considerable amount of work, some make it over the line & others for whatever reason don't - I would like to think that the reason its so quiet is that we are keeping our cards close to our chest & trying to manage supporter's expectations.

I saw someone posted the other day that in line with Bournemouth being worth some 100 million, CPFC was adjudged to be worth something like 280 million, quite frankly we have had times in our history where we would have been lucky to scrape together a bucket of loose change in legal tender so to be worth anywhere near 280 million is fantastic -

Obviously the Texter / how much is our war chest going to be during January is a question we would all like to know the answer to, but its hardly going to be published in the Sun alerting all & sundry -

Pretty much every article you read about clubs buying players in the Jan window alludes to buying this player to solve a problem, fill a hole, avoid relegation etc because in general players cost more in January than they do in the summer - so whilst we do have the possibility to take players from the market the club will have to decide on how urgent that particular trade is to what we are trying to achieve in the big picture, I would be pleased to see maybe 2 players come in & Wilf stay, the likelihood is we will only see one come in to strengthen midfield & the rest will wait till the summer - as someone else said, if we pick up points from our next couple games our position looks stronger than if we dont-

Maybe its because whenever I read Palace are in for XXXXX the following day. Signed for West Ham!!

Because there is a 138 page post for every transfer rumour which goes against the rules for posting in `Transfer Talk` so instead of being able to come on here see a name with rumour, suggestion or papertalk on you'd have to hunt through those 138 disorganised pages to find anything out, which discourages activity.
