Forest Hillbilly Flag in a hidey-hole 07 Dec 22 7.06am Send a Private Message to Forest Hillbilly Add Forest Hillbilly as a friend

Cards sent 10 days ago to avoid postal disruption. Hillbilly has few friends or living relatives.
Bought the tree last weekend and now stands decorated in living room.
Got a few indoor lights.
An early present for Mrs Hillbilly was the Jamie Oliver "Christmas" book.

I'm there, aren't I ?

If that’s your living room it’s very, ummm, natural

Turkey is overrated, a bit dry, but it’s traditional

Let it soak in a bottle of white wine for a while before cooking and baste during cooking every so often.

Mrs hillbilly is the cook, so got a turkey crown ordered from M&S. Picking it up early Christmas Eve.

Got the tree decorated (see photo). Got a couple of cards from people, which is always nice.

Nipping to Aldi on Saturday to get a cooked ham,.....and hopefully cheap booze for Mrs H. Christmas Day isn't normal without a good booze-fuelled argument in late afternoon.

So, we're having a very Global-warming centred Christmas. cutting a tree down, picking holly from woodland bushes. Got a 2 tonne delivery of chopped wood coming next week for the open fire. That might last into January.
The few presents we have are probably manufactured in China on below living-standard wage, or other exploited workers from developing countries. Like the UK.

A lovely tree nicely ornamented. Well done! But Mrs. Hannes liked the guard dog of the tree even more.
