Dead ?

He will be 38 years old soon ( 11 weeks from now).

Win a World Cup, and go out with a bang ?

or take the lead from Messi..... losing to Saudi Arabia, and maybe go out with a whimper ?

the bookies give Portugal 13/1

As far as club football goes I suppose a lot depends on how the top level of the footballing world sees his time at Man U & what they make of the events leading up to his exit - what proportion of blame lays with the club & how much lays with the player -

Even at 38 I would think there are still clubs out there that would want to have him for his talents & that big name draw - whether he is worth the kind of money that he has been earning at Man U (how many clubs could afford to pay him anywhere near that) & the risk of unsettling the dressing room with another inflated ego -

Even with all of that I doubt he will still be in the shop window come the end of January -

I suppose the litmus test is would you want him at Palace? On a free until the end of the season perhaps. That's about it, and only because we're so poor up front and in midfield. I doubt Newcastle fans actually want him, but I could be wrong.
