This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

Frankly, surprised he lasted that long. Southampton were fun under him.

He joined Southampton in 2018-19 season after they had played 15 games and were in 18th place. They finished that season in 16th place.
In 2019-20 they finished in 11th place.
In 2020-21 they finished in 15th place.
Last season they finished in 15th place.

Rumours on the Saints website linking Marcelo Gallardo with the job. Not exactly a stunning CV.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Managed in S.America has never managed in Europe.
Nathan Jones of Luton is the current odds-on favourite.

Southampton probably have one of the weakest squads in the PL in my view despite a reasonable outlay in the summer. A few promising youngsters and JWP, but otherwise I've not been impressed. They have tried to pick up youngsters from the top clubs on relatively low fees, but they perhaps have a couple more years before they properly shine. After spending about 70m in the summer I doubt the new manager will have much to play with in January.

I think they should go for Dyche if they're going to continue operating on a relatively low-cost model. He's a good man manager and will motivate the players and won't be afraid to do what's necessary to get results. If they do go down he also has a track record of getting out of the Championship.

This season they have purchased 4 young players from Man C.
Goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu who is only 20 was signed for an initial £12 Mill.
Teenager Juan Larios was signed for £6 Mill, teenager Romeo Lavia
was signed for a fee which could reach £14 Mill and another teenager Sam Edozie was signed for a fee which could reach £10 Mill.

RH has been a good manager for Saints.

He will be out of work for about 7 days.

The lure of 'new manager bounce' is attractive but it could easily be 'dead cat bounce' after a couple of weeks.

Rangers' fans would take him in an instant - they're currently talking about Sean Dyche as a saviour. If it meant getting rid of van Bronckhurst they take Mr. Bean.
