He's struggled this season and seems to keep getting niggly injuries during games. I think he could do with a rest over the WC so he can have a stronger second half to the season.

As much as I'd love him to be in the set up, I cant see the value he'd add.

It won't be him. Totally ruined him the last time anyway. I'm sure our players want to go.

Not good enough I'm afraid. He's gone off the boil this season. That said after Luke Shaw, next best is probably Aaron Cresswell, so he might scrape in. I would expect Ghehi to go and sit on the bench for 4 games. I think Eze should go and should feature, however Southgate will instead give a space to Ward-Prowse (kill me).

A rest would be really beneficial. Same with Guehi imho. When Mitchell played for England it was during a time when both Chilwell and Shaw were injured. He did the same on the right with Walker Peters from Southampton. Neither disgraced themselves, but also did not impress enough to push them up the pecking order. Suspect Trippier will be used as a 2nd choice (442) and maybe Southgate is considering a winger to play in a 352 - hopefully not Saka after the last outing!! Edited by palace99 (03 Nov 2022 10.06am)

Which would be yet another reason why England would have no hope in this tourney.

He's definitely not at the same level this season but there's a good chance he goes now. The full backs that have played for England in 2022: James (out), Walker (doubt), KWP (doubt). Shaw, Trippier, TAA, White, Michell, Justin, Saka available. Saka and at least 4 who could play that wing back role go, probably 5. It's possibly a straight shootout between Mitchell and Justin.
