I've just finished my mobile contract, paying for a Samsung A51, and moved to a SIM only arrangement. Thinking of replacing the Samsung with a Xiaomi having been attracted by their phone specs and prices. Bit of an unknown entity so wondered if any of you has one, and if so, whether you'd recommend them. Please don't suggest I just buy an iPhone. Overhyped and overpriced.

I got a Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro 128gb memory 6.67 screen and quad camera. Around £240 on Amazon.

Have a look at OnePlus. I got a 5t back in April 2018 and it's still going strong.

I have a sim only contract for £6 per month. I bought a second hand phone from one of those specialist shops I would never have paid the full price for it. You already have a decent phone so why change, yours it's more up to date that mine. The only reason people should pay big money for a phone is for the camera other than that most smartphones are the same apart from the odd gimmick. Edited by Badger11 (26 Sep 2022 5.21pm)

Edited by Badger11 (26 Sep 2022 5.21pm) Yep, thanks Badger, I know my A51 is an OK phone, except I dropped it a while ago and cracked the screen. No urgency, just thought I'd have a change. You're right about the marketing of these things - huge emphasis on the camera.

My Galaxy SIII just gave up the ghost the other day, so I went for an A30s this time - on an O2 Big Bundle for £5 per month, it does everything I want (basically calls & texts) and cost only £105 from Amazon. Looks amazing, fast and easy..... would recommend!

I've got a Huawei P30 and my contract is up soon. I've been looking for another Huawei but I'm having trouble finding them. My wife has just got a Google Pixel 6 phone and that looks quite decent so far, so I might consider one of those if I don't go sim only.

I'm staggered by how much money people are prepared to blow on a mobile phone. I use a cheap Motorola. It's amazing because it does calls, texts and it connects me to the t'internet.
