On the news feeds it appears he is moving back to Greece as the Greek transfer window closes tonight.

He was a good servant but now well past his prime and a not very good captain with a very poor disciplinary record and a habit of conceding needless free kicks.

He has my thanks for his service but his time was up.

Man and boy Palace since my first game in 1948 sitting on my dad's shoulders

Haven't heard anything on this but nonetheless agree completely with sentiments.

There's been far too much vitriol for my liking, he was one of the first names on the team sheet and our top scorer for a while and I'd argue integral to our Allardyce, relegation battling days.

He is now, as they say, sticking our like the proverbial sore thumb when he plays and far off what we need in that midfield. I am or will not be saddened by his departure but thank him and his place and contributions in our history has been noted by me!

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

also agree with the sentiments.

Though I'd be surprised if he was let go, considering he's still obviously preferred to some of the other centre mids

What actual central midfielders do we have left?

I'm prepared to bring my boots to the next game, if that helps.

When we started going five at the back, I didn't realise our formation was going to be five-one-four.

Looks like not, just wishful thinking on my part.

Proves you mustn't believe what you read ... apologies.
