I was taken to my first match in 1948 at the age of 5. Went with my uncle and dad and always stood on the Park Road side from then on. It was a muddy bank at the top and concrete steps below with metal railings to lean on. Half time was always hot Bovril and a meat pie. Been a supporter ever since. Great days of Johnny Byrne, playing Real Madrid and promotion to the first division will live long in my memories. Last season was great and hoping for even better things this season.

This mirrors almost exactly my first visit to Selhurst in 1948.
Since then we've both seen many 'downs' with very few 'ups' but we were both privileged to see both Johnny Byrne and John Jackson in their prime.
Never dreamed that we would eventually be in the top flight for 10 seasons. Now is the pinnacle of our 'ups' but can we go any further? At 82 probably not in my time - but you never can tell !

Man and boy Palace since my first game in 1948 sitting on my dad's shoulders

February 1964 for a game against Colchester United on a dull murky afternoon, and a dull 0-0 draw - actually I don't know if it was a dull game, but I certainly went back for more.

I went to three more games that season as we won promotion. In the process I bought a team photograph, a rosette and one of those plastic star lapel badges with a tiny photo of a player - unfortunately the one I purchased was of Andy Smillie, who, unbeknown to me, had left the club a number of months beforehand!

As a younger Nicholas91, the old man took me to my first game against Ipswich in what I think would have been about 1996?!?!

We drew 1-1, had a goal disallowed and I think Dave Tuttle broke his leg (or at least badly injured it). I then proudly remember announcing to several people I had gone to see Palace vs Italy in the following days (I was very little)!

Not quite the history or memory lane rtip some may provide on here but it is firmly cemented in my memory. Never dreamed we would be an established top flight side growing up and missed the excitement that came shortly before but nonetheless all those years listening to the omnipresent Man U and Chelsea fans at school and being surrounded by Millwall outside (and enough inside) of it leave me rather smug these days

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

1968 3-3 v Charlton. A friend's dad took us, it was the only time I ever sat in the "old" stand. After January we didn't lose that season and of course got promoted which rather gave me a false impression of what things were going to be like for the next 54 years.

early/mid 1980's. Going to school in Surrey, me and my mates had previously supported Aldershot Town.
What a difference, "going to a big game". Standing on the Holmesdale terraces, trying to squeeze a view between the taller adults in front.
When Palace scored, being lifted of our feet by the surge forward, and carried ontop of the human wave until we were unceremoniously dumped over the advertising hoardings and onto the pitch.

Dusted ourselves off,..and ran back into the crowd.

I disengage, I turn the page.

Got a few small memories from when I was really young, around 4 years old being held up on the bars so I could see etc but my real first memory of it meaning something special and when I started celebrating properly was probably the 4-3 at home to Millwall in 89. Thats when Palace became one of the most important things in the history of the universe for me

I love reminding my Millwall mates about that game they still bite.

Not my first, but an early palace memory that will stay with me till my grave is one day at school, we had to shout out a top sports person, at that time, the likes of Kevin Keegan, George Best, Bjorn Borg, Alan Minter, Geoff Boycott etc were shouted out, it came to my turn and I shouted out BARRY SILKMAN!!! Now to me, we were only 3rd division, but he was a hero, so I was quite put out by the laughing and the shouts of ‘who??’ and that was just the teacher

But looking back, it was funny, and I’ve always been proud that I was palace in among all the kids who supported the usual big clubs

I recall him well, crinkly hair in a mad frizz. We acquired him from Hereford and he performed with some aplomb.
He played alongside Harkouk, Swindlehurst, Holder, Perrin,Cannon,Evans,Chatterton etc.
He has been an agent for several years.

silkman had a few issues outside of the game with Rash the smash and he ended up as being a very successful greyhound trainer. My first memory was as a five year old sat on a barrier in the whiehorse terrace for our first game in Division 1 v Man Utd with a crowd of 49,000 ,which we ended up drawing 2 2
