Diana died 25 years ago.

After all that time has passed, I just wondered how many people still think she was assassinated and who thinks it was just an accident.

Channel 4 and those involved at the sharp end seemed to be trying really hard to dismiss the conspiracy theories as fantasy.

That makes me more suspicious, with Her majesty potentially on her last legs and Charles and Camilla about to step up.

Remember how they tried to tell us that Kennedy was killed by a lone gunman.

I think that one has been disproven very conclusively, but it took a long time.

Diana was killed because she was about to reveal that Prince Charles had an affair err no that already happened.

Okay she was killed because she was about to reveal all in a tell all interview err no that already happened.

She was pregnant and her Muslim baby would be in line to the throne err no that doesn't work because her divorce meant that any future children would not be linked to the Royal family.

So I am hard put to understand a motive for her assassination any damage that she could do to the Royal family had already been done.

Occam's razor she was killed by a drunk driver who baited the press to catch him and a bodyguard who failed to do his job and ensure she didn't get in the car with said drunk and wear a seat belt.

The French have no love for us if it was anything else I am sure they would not have held back.

The focus of conspiracy theories was in the wrong place.

It was assassination , or 'the perfect storm' of an accident.

There was motive, in the potential of a Muslim in the Royal family and Diana at large as a 'loose canon' with more revelations.

The timing of the accident was perfect. A motoring collision (in itself, extremely difficult to design for specific casualties) in France. the missing Uno ? never found.
The potential for assassination came with the arrival of Diana's ambulance. She was walking and talking as she got into the ambulance, though perhaps already terminally/badly injured internally.
The ambulance was delayed for 15 minutes on its way to hospital. "caught in traffic jams". This gave the opportunity to administer fatal drugs to ensure her demise.
Coupled with France pumping dead bodies almost immediately with a drug (was it formaldehyde ?) which then made an autopsy problematic with regards to ascertaining:
1. Was Diana pregnant ?
2. Was she drugged in the ambulance ? Diamorphine ?

no one will ever be able to prove anything. Top work, Your Maj's Secret Service. (doff's hat)

This is a suspicion I always had.

The police have said that there was no evidence of a conspiracy.

I think that is the general idea with assassinations.

!. She had only known Dodi Fayed for a few weeks, so marriage at this stage was hardly likely, and even if it was, he would hardly have 'been in the Royal Family' as whilst she would have been welcomes as the children's mother, he would have been excluded from any important events.

2) There was no sign of any concern over her having a muslim partner when she was dating the heart surgeon Hasnat Khan for the previous 2+ years.

3) How did they persuade Henri Paul to drive at 100+ miles an hour in the tunnel knowing that it would possibly cause his own death?

4) She was alive in the car when transferred to the ambulance, but French Law requires that a patient is stabilised before they are driven to hospital - it was this 15 minute delay that allowed the torn artery to the heart to bleed out (something that would have almost certainly been beyond the diagnostic abilites of the paramedics/ambulance equipment)

5) Her closest friend testified to the Inquest that Diana had had a period less than 2 weeks before her death, so could never have been identifiably pregnant.

6) Whatever her failings, Diana gave an interview that settled several scores with Charles, but had never bad-mouthed the royal family in general - in fact, as she said, why would she? It was her sons' heritage.

If there ever was any possibility of it being an assassination, there were far too many people, of whom most would have had no loyalty to the Crown, in on it and something would have emerged over the years.

Two separate Inquests and an inquiry couldn't find anything other than the 'perfect storm'.

That's all logical stuff, but are we seeing the bigger picture?

Think about what happened in the world shortly after her death. I suspect the secret service, maybe American, would not want a very popular woman known for her outspokenness on subjects like land mines and married to the son of a wealthy Muslim, potentially making waves and influencing minds.

It is now well know that John Lennon was on the FBI watch list for similar reasons, and we know what happened to him.

A journalist who just happens to drive a White Fiat is found incinerated in his car in a wood, and that just gets dismissed as unrelated.
It seems to me that plenty of people are trying to tell us what a thorough investigation they did and how there was no evidence for murder.

I think the Warren Commission also managed to arrive at a conclusion that suited the establishment as well.

I'm just not convinced that this is as simple as it is made to appear. I might be wrong of course, but that doesn't happen often.

And James Hewitt isn't Harry's biological dad.

That is definitely for certain. Fact. end of.

The irony would be that if Charles III comes to being, he would love that scenario, as he seems to adore that religion.

Always thought that she was killed by the same "adoring" crowds that turned out to share their outpouring of grief when she died.

If they hadn't clamoured for every single picture of what she was wearing, who she was dating, how she was sitting, where she was going out her car wouldn't have being chased by the mopedised paparazzi trying to get the next picture to keep them all happy.

It wasn't an outpouring of grief to my mind. It was an outpouring of hypocrisy and barely concealed guilt.

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.
