Given last seasons results against Arsenal it seems at odds with bookies making the gunners odds-on. With Palace around 7/2 and 5/2 the draw, lump on sez I.

Not really they have made some strong quality signings they will be far more consistent this season than last. We will do well to get a point from them.COYP

I’d say the odds are about right. But odds don’t equal results. Arsenal are looking very strong…..we have a chance but it’s going to be very difficult.

Arsenal have had a strong pre season with some impressive results - Indeed, although their last but one game was a defeat by Brentford, which emphasises that nothing should be taken for granted.

A mate of mine , an Arsenal fan (although he never goes to games) text me yesterday saying that he thinks Arsenal will win 1:4 on Friday - interesting that he was damn quiet last year when we took 4 points off them & were unlucky not to take all 6.

This is not a good fixture for us to start the new campaign. We'll give them a good game, but I reckon a draw will be a success and I won't be surprised if we lose by 2 goals.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

Like Chelsea last August, this game has come way too soon for us. If I were placing any money, it would be on Arsenal.
