Winchester - can be a bit 'touristy', but lots of history and places to see, more pubs than you can shake a stick at and some lovely small, independent shops to browse.

A stairway to Heaven and a Highway to Hell give some indication of expected traffic numbers

i would avoid the Centre of every major European Capital. Too touristy, tatty souvenir shops selling stuff made in China, with a relative absence of the local people & their culture.

Little villages are my favourite. Bavaria is stunningly beautiful, as is much of Austria.

Galicia, Northern Spain ..... beautiful scenery, not too touristy and avoids the oven that is the rest of Spain during the summertime.

Finistere, Brittany is also amazing for scenery, climate & culture. And anybody who speaks Welsh or Cornish is in for a pleasant surprise. Breton is very similar. Barnenez is one of the oldest man-made structures on Earth.

With many Hotels filled with Asylum Seekers, it is nay on impossible to get a cheap hotel room in Ireland. Certainly during any tourist season or Rugby match. Added to the cost of a Pint approaching a Tenner ( Euros)....Ireland has now effectively priced itself out of the market.

I think Florence is a fantastic place to visit if you like Art and History.

“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn

Under-rated ? did TripAdviser give it 2/100 ? whereas it deserves a 4/100 for the competitively-priced Cinema in the Town Centre ?

There's the boxpark near the railway station. If you went no further than there, you might think it was alright.
I always stay in Croydon for matches and don't mind it. I'm someone who'll eat and drink in Wetherspoons so it makes little difference to me. Plus I'm not in a gang so don't feel particularly threatened. The worst places are the underpasses. Do not go down there, no one does.
