Is this not one of the biggest medical/psychological piece of bulls*** that has ever existed ? It seems like 50% of youngsters are now diagnosed with it. Who would argue against a diagnosis ? It gives kids an excuse to misbehave, parents an excuse for their parenting skills, teachers an excuse for their teaching skills, it keeps psychologists in a job, I'd say maybe doctors genuinely think they're helping, if there's medication to help someone it's their job to prescribe so I don't blame them. Pharmaceutical companies are profiting, in America they basically give kids crystal meth for it.

There's no physical test to diagnose someone, just questions that include stuff like, do you ever lose interest in something you're not interested in ? Yes every human does. Do you ever zone out when someone is talking to you ? Yes every husband. Are you obsessed about something you're interested in ? Erm yes because I'm interested in it.

I'll guarantee diagnosed kids correlates with single parent families, im sure there will be some kind of disability benefit that comes with being diagnosed aswell.

Thoughts ?

Only the same as yours. And there is a benefit and extra teaching and special teachers one to one etc etc. no wonder the clever kids end up stupid and there arnt enough teachers. A scandal on a mass scale but like woman’s football or that cricketer looking for a pay day you can’t frigging say anything negative. I have no doubt some kids have issues granted but the amount with adhd is excessive and will only give them a s*** life once the real world takes hold and mummy won’t get any more dosh. Jail, gangs or low paid unskilled jobs but hey mums got great hair, nails and a car

Constant access to digital products and unhealthy chemical laced, sugary food would be a couple of my suggestions for the rise.

The dangers of the digital world on a child's development are pretty scary and I don't think we'll fully understand to what length for another 10 or so years. By which point we'll all be microchipped.

Some think we already have with vaccine
I don’t think food is the issue, it’s childrens rights, I don’t mean go down t pit or slap them around. I mean they tell teachers, police and their parents what they can do. I doubt they beleive there’s anything they can’t do. This is where the digital age is dangerous imo. Not sure if it was the guy who invented the www said it was the best and worst invention.

I was at primary school in the 60's when ADHA was largely constrained by the expectation of a clout off the teacher for anyone acting up. Kids are excitable but that knowledge was enough most of the time.

From my experience many kids with autism, other mental health or physical issues come from single parent families as the father has pushed off

I was NEVER diagnosed with any of those, so wind your neck in & stop labeling people to suit your agenda

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

there really ARE some kids with an inability to concentrate.

Even if you bribed them with a million quid or threatened them with the firing squad.....they just simply cannot tune-in for any amount of time.

Now on the one hand that is true. On the other hand the entire 'psychology & mental health brigade' are a bunch of overpaid useless c..nts.

I’m 45 and suffered with mental health problems most of my adult life. I’m actually awaiting an assessment to see if I have autism/on the spectrum. I’m not saying you are wrong as as you say it is from your experience but me personally grew up in a stable household til my parents split up when I was 14 ( but it was amicable and I saw my dad any time I wanted) and so I don’t think it played any part in me having any “problems”.

There were hundreds of thousands of kids after WWII who were raised by only one parent due to their dads not coming home, and we didn't have the amount of out of control little feckers we have now.

It seems that everyone wants to be a victim of something or the other, and there's always someone there to pander to them.

Instead of mollycoddling poor little Keanu when he's set fire to someone's cat, give the the little s***e a back-hander and he'll soon be able to concentrate on what's right and wrong.

My nephew (aged 10) was diagnosed a couple of years ago.
Personally, I think the little 5hlt lacks any discipline at home, and when I'm around him, he does as he's told.
It's to his educational detriment he's allowed to get away with murder, and in this case it's very poor parenting to blame.IMO

I disengage, I turn the page.
