Quality in bundles, strong, and can run with the ball

He reminds me of probably my favourite Palace player of all time, Andy Gray. the day beat Liverpool at Anfield he was Unbelievable, 2 goals from Gabbiadini too

There was a 2-1 in 92 - think it was maybe Thomas and Gabiadini. Someone will let us know. Not sure Gabiadini ever scored 2 for us in one game. Just a feeling, haven't looked it up.

I would agree that from a Palace point of view, and notwithstanding the fact that Vieira was a tremendous midfielder in his day, a template using the Gray / Thomas formula is the way to go.
I suspect Doucoure will figure majorly in Vieira's plans and the level of graft and guile offered by Gray / Thomas can be recreated.

Yes, it was, my mate got his nose broken by a 30plus bloke in Stanley park, we were 16 then, Graeme Taylor, England manager at the time, was at the game and picked him for England next game.

Nope, sorry the broken nose was the 3-0 defeat in 81, i think.

Back in my day the Holmesdale was a grass bank. Rarely had any grass on it

I first went on it in 68. Mostly terraces but the top 1/4 was still earth and rubble.
