That was my first thoughts but then again this is the Sun reporting, so it's very likely based on internet gossip and agent chat.

I have a bit of a conspiracy theory....but it does make sense:

We have a long record of signing players we have been linked to for a long time. This MGW deal has come very much out the blue.

The Doucoure deal is one we have been working on but it seems there is a lot of haggling going on over finalising details.

So if I was Palace I would be contacting Wolves and expressing an interest in a player in the same position and similar price range to put pressure on Lille to concede the final details for the target I really want.

If we sign this lad as well as Decoure then someone is on the way out surely!
