Chelsea are to be sold and the proceeds given to charity. Seems like a scary precedent to me. Shouldn't the money be put into an account until the war is over and then returned?

Not a positive at all. No matter what you think of him, or Chelsea, this is not the actions of a Conservative Government. His only 'crime', with regards to this, is being born Russian.

Of course, it will be cheered on by all sorts but not a positive development at all.

No. Teach the bloke a lesson. How dare he be a chum of Vlad.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

The Government hasn't stolen anything from Abramovich, it was Abramovich who said that it could go to charity.

He got another £5 billion to get by on, he will be fine.

Considering how he made his wealth, I'm not going to feel sorry for him. I'm more sorry that the process didn't drag on longer putting their PL place in doubt.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Indeed, the rule of law is a western principle that is being broken. The government is saying it can do what it likes to people it doesn't like. This is the "rules based international order" and it's a sham. Rules for thee but not for me.

A civilised society should not thieve people's property, no matter rich or poor, without due process.

A big raspberry from me.

Here basically you are saying because someone is Russian, you can help yourself to their assets.

Isn't that similar to what Ambramovich did in the first place?

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I agree with everyone saying that how the government has behaved in relation to anything Russian has been quite incredible.

I honestly never thought I'd see the day where an 'English' parliament would just openly justify stealing money and persecuting people by association.

That doesn't mean that I don't think that Russian oligarchs aren't awash with dirty money and fully corrupt themselves. However, they had been welcomed here along with all the rest of the corrupt classes from Saudi and everywhere else. London has been and continues to be a dirty laundering location for most of the foreign rich....whored out to the fullest pockets....but now it's only if we like you apparently.

If we are suddenly developing a selective conscience we should have told them to bugger off not stolen what they came here with. Just as we should tell all the dirty and corrupt money in the city to go forth and multiply.

But this is the neo liberal system...the services society where you off shore all manufacturing to the cheapest option and rely upon a global elite and its merchant classes to palm their way to leave you poor and them as an untouchably rich superclass.

But I digress.

I'm not seeing how he's any different to anyone else in the system.

No one important had a problem previously did they?

so all the reports about his Putin cronyism are wrong?

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.
